“The last time I reviewed the 13-in. MacBook Pro, I was quickly won over by its size, portability and performance,” Michael deAgonia writes for Computerworld. “The solid build of the aluminum chassis wrapped around the high-resolution Retina display, in concert with great performance and battery life, led me to confidently recommend that computer.”
“I have now spent some time with the 2015 version of the entry-level 13-in. MacBook Pro, and I’m more impressed than the last time I reviewed this model,” deAgonia writes. “This notebook, which starts at $1,299, shares the same weight (just under 3.5 lb.) and dimensions (12.35 x 8.62 x 0.71 in.) as last year’s, but offers improvements to the internal architecture, including a faster PCIe-based flash storage system and improvements to battery life. But the most notable addition is the inclusion of the new Force Touch trackpad.”
“This is the third Apple product to feature Force Touch and haptic feedback, the others being the Apple Watch and the upcoming redesigned MacBook. It’ll be interesting to see how this tech is implemented moving forward,” deAgonia writes. “For road warriors, students and anyone who wants a great size/performance notebook, this [notebook] is tough to beat. When you factor in its full complement of ports, unmatched build quality, support for the Apple app and hardware ecosystem — including integration with other Apple products via support for Continuity and Handoff — the value proposition rises enormously. This computer will not disappoint.”

Now make it in a 17″ model and I’ll buy one.
Well, that’s a no brainer. Apple hasn’t neutered the MacBook Pros. … yet.
But Apple has neutered the formerly capable value-priced MacBook. The new 2015 MacBook won’t see many objectively favorable reviews, so MDN will just be posting reviews of the minor 2013 MBP speed bump. What could be more predictable?
I’m glad they didn’t upgrade the 15″ yet because it gives them a bit more time to figure out how to get that new keyboard in it.
Often when I’m in a meeting, someone will pull out their new Dell or HP or whatever notebook and try to impress me with their “fine” new machine. I then pull out my Air and say, why did you buy that POS when you could have one of these instead.
They respond first by saying, Macs are too expensive. I then ask them how much they paid and tell them that is more than the Mac laptops.
They then say “but we need to run Windows.” To which I respond, you can run Windows natively with the Mac.
They then look at their shoes and don’t want to talk to me anymore.
Why do idiots still buy these crappy laptop PCs when they can buy an Air or MacBook or MacBook Pro and have a top, top quality machine. I just don’t get it. Are people just that stupid!

would like to add that Macs usually due to build quality last longer and have much better resale value so the price advantage moves even further to Mac.
I got one of these 13″ stock with 256 SSD. The Force Trackpad is awesome, so much easier to click anywhere on the pad. This is one of the best Apple machines I have ever purchased.
