Happy New Year!

It’s already Thursday, January 1, 2015 in some parts of the world. In fact, New Year’s Day is now half over in Kiritimati (Christmas Island) – greetings from the past!

As we post this, we still have 7 more hours to go, but regardless of when it rolls around the globe to you, MacDailyNews wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and successful 2015!

We believe an very important and eventful year is about to begin for Apple. Even more so than 2014 which saw the tease of Apple Watch, and the releases of iOS 8, OS X Mavericks, Apple Pay, WatchKit, HealthKit, HomeKit, iMac with Retina 5K display, the iPad Air 2, the iPad mini 3, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, among theory things! We can’t wait to see what happens with Apple Watch!

Thank you very much for visiting MacDailyNews and for patronizing our sponsors, without whom we would not exist. We really appreciate your visits and feedback. Thanks also for downloading our MacDailyNews app and to everyone at Empirical Development who made the app possible.

To those of you who’ve sent us links, and to all of the MacDailyNews regulars, an extra special thank you!

2015 is poised to be another amazing record year for Apple – we can hardly wait!

Happy New Year!

        1. To be frank, Melvin was just the epitome of brutal eloquence in the semi-finals…the debate topic was “Tastier: Periwinkle or Burnt Umber Crayolas?” Nonetheless, second place is something to be proud, he swaggers about the institution’s playground pointing at the bas-relief of Jerry Lewis on the obverse side of his medal. He thinks he is a god to the female residents.

        1. Do pay attention at the back there!
You have the evidence of what’s been going on over the last couple of years.
Unless you’ve spent the time continually counting your fingers and toes…

    1. Sometimes, you just have to have faith. Besides, given what Apple achieved in 2014 and will build upon in 2015, there is every reason to be optimistic. Our favorite consumer electronics company has successfully battled against the odds over the decades and has now become the prime target for every other tech company in the world.

Consider all of the tech companies that have appeared, then disappeared since the late 1970s…

  1. Happy New Year to us rich and smart! We are the awesomest! And fuck you/thermonuke to the poor and stupid! You have no right to live! Yay us!Monopoly or bust! And thanks so, so much to the smug Euros/Aussies who grace this site with their superior guidance to how America should conduct itself, tho wondering why they don’t instead buy their UK-manufactured products and comment on their UK-oriented sites! Cheers!

    1. With and attitude like that, it is a wonder that you are still alive. I am amazed that your mother didn’t smoother you at birth.

I hope that 2015 is the year you get over your inferiority complex and enjoy the rest of the world (or die, I could be happy either way).

      1. Inferiority complex? HAH! I spend $1,000s annually on apps, bought millions of AAPL shares at a split-adjusted 89¢/each in 1972 (reinvested divs, a’course,) pay $600 for oil changes, own seven iPhones, four iPads, six Mac Pros, four unreleased Apple Watches, have a giant penis, and vote strictly Republican! What inferiority complex could I possibly have? I am an MDN commenter! You’re jealous!

    2. This is a Mac-orientated site; I’ve yet to see anything on it that says its specifically for the inhabitants of any one particular country.
It’s the likes of egocentric, overbearing assholes like you who start wars in other people’s countries, then drag others in to sort out the unholy mess you get yourselves into.
You think you’re so fucking awesome?
      Met any Vietnam Vets recently?
      Jackass.

    1. Some funny new names, – Jeff Bezos really has looked like a moron with some of his recent moves, like that pitiful Amazon phone and the Amazon Prime pricing debacle, – also they keep fiddling with their website and app designs, it’s confusing. WTH, Happy New Year to him anyway, he’s sure to collect more of my money in 2015, but I could do without the creepy delivery drones.

  2. The snark of MDN is always appreciated and even when elbows get thrown, we are all Mac/iOS users and more than a few are invested in Apple as shareholders.

    Apple wishes for 2015:
1- A running improvement to the Mac mini allowing for at minimum Iris Pro graphics.
2- A long overdue update to the LED Cinema/Thunderbolt display.
3- An updated Apple TV. The current unit is a me too device- not worthy of Apple’s reputation and capabilities.
4- A Snow Leopard like overhaul of iTunes. Snow Leopard did not really add new features- it fixed all the features that were not up to spec and cleaned out the cruft. iTunes desperately needs that kind of update.
5- An iTunes University stand alone app that also supports Coursera and EdX.
6- A return of Front Row or a similar interface to the Mac OS. Make it an app and sell it on the app store, but bring back the living room interface on the Mac.
7- Improved discovery/browsing on the iTunes Store. Same for the app store.
8- (Pipe dream wish) A small Mac tower (think previous Mac Pro) using Core i7 CPUs instead of Xeons that has PCIe support and discrete graphics cards.

Aside from Apple issues, I hope for a more prosperous, peaceful and tranquil America and world with great opportunity for all.

    See you in 2015.

  3. Happy New to all of you here on MDN. Love all of you. May you all have a healthy and prosperous New Year and thanks again to all of the regulars for your comments. Happy New Year to you MDN appreciate your massive effort here with your takes.

  4. Dear All, here is to a new year filled with hope for great Apple products and insightful post by all, but also the wish that the world can improve, if ever so slightly….
Thanks to all for 2014, let’s make 2015 even better!
    Happy New Year!

  5. MDN – I think you mean
    *Release of OS X “Yosemite”

But seriously thank you for all the hard work. I love this site and especially appreciate all your great comments and perspectives.

  6. Looking forward to more doofusosity in general from the analysts, Apple competitors and IT folk in 2015.

Looking too to more Samsung and Android premium phone decline and being relegated to the desperate non-profit bottom tier experience and offerings.

Looking to amazing increased Apple profit share increases to the point analysts look their most ludicrous, out of touch and just plain stupid underestimating Apple in their pathological way.

Leave us not forget the starving web hit bait Apple doomsayers who are compelled to paint faux dark images in lieu of actual other talents or sense of reality or accurate reporting. They’re cluelessness provides the greatest laughter.

Live long and prosper me MDN brother droogies. You provide yearlong entertainment, laughs and perspective.

  7. The Apple of my eye…

A Happy Healthy Peaceful and exciting year to all the crazy ones who stand united in their appreciation and recognition of ingenuity, innovation and excellence, despite the hate and stupidity.

MDN and all the die hards here do make a difference and stand as examples of solid customer support and loyalty that no other company in the world can match.

Here’s to another banner Apple year and an Apple forum that rocks!

You are the Apple of our eye!!!

  8. Alabama and Auburn both lost to Big Ten teams on ESPN- chief pimp of the high church of southern football worship. I guess those ‘slow’ Big Ten teams were fast enough to keep up with that SEC speed.

I hear there are massive shortages of Kleenex throughout the state of Alabama. Please feel free to send an Ohio State/Big 10 decorator box to the SEC afflicted among your friends and family. I plan on sending a Wisconsin/Big 10 Box to Tim Cook.

Nice start to the New Year!
