Apple orders whopping 50 million iPhone 6 units alone – not including iPhone 6 Plus – by year end

“Strong demand for Apple’s iPhone 6 has boosted Pegatron Technology’s orders for 2014 and the maker is expected to ship close to 25 million units before the end of 2014, according to sources from the upstream supply chain,” Monica Chen and Joseph Tsai report for DigiTimes.

“Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) will also deliver about 25 million units during the period, bringing iPhone 6 overall shipments to 50 million units in 2014. These estimates do not include shipments of the iPhone 6 Plus,” Chen and Tsai report. “Compared to the US and Europe’s high demand for the iPhone 6, consumers in Asia Pacific countries such as China, are more fond of the iPhone 6 Plus and the supply ratio of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in the region is about 55:45 currently, the sources noted.”

Chen and Tsai report, “To allow Pegatron to focus mainly on iPhone 6 production, Apple has shifted iPhone 5c orders to Wistron.”

  1. So, Apple is doomed? SIDAGTMBTTS? Android market share matters? Samsung/Google cannot be defeated? Microsoft is poised to reclaim prior credibility & relevance greatness?

Sold some Apple stock this morning – here comes new Apple goodies and a BRAND NEW CARRRrrrrrr…!

  2. But but but it bends!!!!!! Lol. Every year someone has to come up with a bullshit “gate” to try and curb sales… I wonder who it could be. Oh and notice I said sales and not shipments. 😉

    1. Most of the news media will have to go after Apple’s Huge iPad Failure” to drum up business. It’s really amazing. There are so many companies out there struggling financially and yet these fools go after Apple as the company always making mistakes or most likely to collapse. It makes no sense to me at all.

  3. – 50 million iPhone 6’s are being made in 2014
    – 25 million iPhone 6 Plus are probably being made in 2014

75 million minus around 16.5 million sold in Q4 equals 58.5 million for Q1.

As I have stated in previous posts according to mixpanel.com the activation numbers of the 5s and 5c are also very impressive. From October 13th through October 20th the 5s/5c share increased 2.23%. Multiply this number by a 330 million base and the total is 7.36 million. Before last week and since the beginning of Q1, the average increase of 5s and 5c is .82% per week or around 8 million. So, in the past four weeks somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 million iPhone 5s/5s have been added. There are thirteen weeks in the quarter, and if the mixpanel.com’s iPhone activation numbers are correct Apple should sell at least 30 million non iPhone 6/6 Plus in Q1. This means it is very possible Apple will sell close to 90 million iPhones this December quarter.

With an average iPhone ASP of $625, sales of the iPhone could reach $56.25 billion for the quarter. Adding in $22 billion for iPad, Mac, iTunes and Other Apple total sales could equal $78 billion for the quarter. This is significantly higher than the $66 billion Apple guided. Either the mixpanel numbers are wrong, which I don’t think they are because I used them to calculate Q4 and was close, or Apple is setting up for a huge beat when they report in January.
