According to a new report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), in 2014, Apple maintains a sizable lead over its major competitors, which it has held since 2004. With an ASCI benchmark score of 84, Apple’s Macintosh dominates in personal computer satisfaction.
The large Windows-based manufacturers do not fare well. Beleaguered Dell declines 4% to tie Acer at 76, followed by Toshiba (-4% to 75). Hewlett-Packard plunges 8% to the bottom of the category at 74. Companies with much smaller market share, such as Samsung, Lenovo and Asus, are higher, up 8% to an ACSI score of 82 (“All Others” in the chart below).
“The increase in customer satisfaction for PCs could mean two different things,” says Claes Fornell, ACSI Chairman and founder, in a statement. “Either the product is seen as more attractive now and is poised for a comeback, or it has higher customer satisfaction simply because those who were less than happy with it have moved to other devices. If dissatisfied customers leave and satisfied customers stay, average satisfaction may well go up.”

I read the “NM” in the rankings quite differently from the legend.
I thought it meant “Never mind!”
One literally could not pay me enough money to use Windows.

As more Windows sufferers move over to the Mac, there will be a lot of Windows unlearning as they learn the better OS X system. Many resist change and will be unhappy because the Mac doesn’t work backwards and upside-down like Windows does.
I have watched new Mac converts struggle with the simplest things because they expect them to be difficult and awkward. They often curse the Mac (rather than themselves for being inflexible).
Chart is proof that just because you can do something with a spreadsheet doesn’t mean you should. Calculating an arithmetic mean proves nothing. What are the sample sizes? 1-sigma deviation? 2-sigma deviation? Margin of error? And the last two columns are beyond moronic. And it sure doesn’t constitute a headline.

Get the top part where it’s Apple on top and then “All others” just below it. Is this their way of saying it’s Apple against the world or just MS? Are they trying to show that +17.1 change to somehow indicate that PC’s are actually improving somehow?
Well I guess it depends on how your present it. I would agree it’s Mac’s vs the “me too group”. haha

There are hundreds of IT doofuses that have an extremely high satisfaction rating when it comes to Windows Metro OS.
Not any IT doofuses I know, they universally hate it. They’re embarrassed to demonstrate it to executives and explain that they’ll have to OK the purchase of new monitors to use the touch interface properly. That’s why EVERY IT guy I know has either just completed a transition to Win 7 or is still in the process.

I just did and I hope you realize that letter is a joke. The comments section (I read about half) wasn’t that keen on Win 8 either, though some people like it.
The enterprise sector doesn’t like it. That’s the kiss of death to a Microsoft OS. I recently read that 8 (that’s 8 and 8.X) has a lower adoption rate than Vista did at this point in its ‘career’.
Even MORE satisfied if they do AVCHD 2.0 1920 x 1080p.
Much more satisfied if they have 3D EDITING !!!
Even if YOU don’t care about 3D, consider the FACT many Hollywood movies are out on 3D, AND will CONTINUE to be.
Many Hollywood movies were made using FCP…..How many have been made on FCPX ? Huh? I dare anyone who says they don’t care about 3D, to watch TITANIC in 3D, and stll SAY who cares. The new 300 movie looks GREAT in 3D. Both Microsoft’s XboxOne, AND the Playstation 4 HAVE 3D movie playback. Guess what? It ain’t going away.
