Foxconn CEO disappointed with current-gen iPhone-assembling robots; next-gen ‘Foxbots’ in the works

“Foxconn – who is responsible for assembling the new iPhones – is failing to meet the high demand, and has continued to hire more workers in order to try and increase the production output,” Mihai Matei reports for G 4 Games.

“Foxconn also took several measures of precaution earlier this year, when it put a new robotic line in place with the purpose of increasing production,” Matei reports. “However, according to the latest reports, these so-called ‘Foxbots’ have failed to meet Foxconn CEO’s expectations, and a 2nd generation is now reportedly in the making.”

“Terry Gou is not too pleased about the first-gen Foxbots, which apparently fell short of expectations in terms of proficiency and flexibility,” Matei reports. “There’s no telling when the 2nd generation Foxbots will be set in place…”

  1. MDN I am still laughing. I love the image of the many robots crapping out the Android turds. Do Android turds also come in brown? Like Android buffalo chips just dropped everywhere in the field and clueless people stepping into them.
