“Apple Inc.’s new iPhones are seeing strong demand that could translate into more than 10 million purchases of the new device in the first weekend of sales, according to a new survey,” Steven Russolillo reports for The wall Street Journal.
“R.W. Baird & Co., conducted a survey of more than 1,500 people in the U.S. over the age of 18,” Russolillo reports. “The firm found 8% of total respondents expected to buy one of the new iPhones. That compares to a survey before the launch of the iPhone 5S last year, when only 5.3% said they expected to buy one.”
“Among the people surveyed who said they’d buy an iPhone, about 43% said they would buy the iPhone 6, 34% said they would buy the iPhone 6 Plus and 23% said they would purchase the 5S and 5C,” Russolillo reports. “‘Our U.S. iPhone survey, conducted after the announcement of the new devices last week, indicates strong year-over-year demand,’ Willaim Power, an analyst at R.W. Baird, said in a note to clients. ‘Additionally, our survey points to strong initial demand for the larger 6 Plus, which should be positive for overall [average selling prices].'”

64gb space 6 for me; 64gb gold 6+ for my wife. I’ve wondered for a week if it’ll be too big for her liking, but I figure we could always eBay it if so. Both arrive tomorrow!
Congrats, Higo! Tomorrow you won’t have to look in Angela’s magic mirror to see how good those iPhones look on you.
For reference, Apple sold nine million iPhone 5s and 5c’s last year. http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2013/09/23First-Weekend-iPhone-Sales-Top-Nine-Million-Sets-New-Record.html
Did that include pre-orders?
Just received my QR code for in-store pick-up of my new iPhone 6 64mb tomorrow. Placed order at around 9am EST last Fri without a hitch or delay. Smooth sailing so far.
Me too. So excited!!! 😀
Well this is just darned peculiar. Weren’t all the tech website bemoaning the falling of iPhone sales in the past 4 months? Almost as if people were waiting for a new model to release or something. Simply inexplicable. #sarcasm
Wow! I am excited for this one. iPhone has always been my favorite.:)
