Apple hires tech blogger Anand Lal Shimpi

“Anand Lal Shimpi, the editor and publisher of the well-regarded AnandTech site, is going to work at Apple,” John Paczkowski reports for Re/code.

“An Apple rep confirmed that the company was hiring Shimpi, but wouldn’t provide any other details,” Paczkowski reports. “[On Friday], via a post on the site he founded in 1997, Shimpi said he was ‘officially retiring from the tech publishing world,’ but didn’t say what he was doing next.”

  1. I think Apple got a pretty knowledgeable employee. Shimpi’s articles were pretty technical but they were very well written and informative.

I thought Shimpi did a great job and enjoyed his writing. I’m disappointed that his work won’t be available anymore but hopefully he’ll make great contributions to Apple.

  2. Good for him. My first thought was that Apple maybe didn’t like all that HIGHLY detailed, HIGHLY accurate info out on their processors. No one broke down hardware like Anand. Who will gaze into the inner workings of the A8+ and tell all?

    1. Is it Paul or Bozo? I mix up the two when I’m reading cow flop.

Anyway, Anand did what all other hardware bloggers did when they heard the A7 specks and capabilities. He called bullshit too.

He changed his tune the day he stripped down the 5S and tested the A7.

He is an honest man as well as a very talented man.

      1. “He changed his tune ……”

        He changed his tune????

Well isn’t that just fcuk ing great…..having done all the damage with a knee jerk reaction and THEN AFTER doing the due diligence strikes me as a bit of a BOZO. Something like “putting the cart before the horse” comes to mind. Why you defend this lowlife I don’t understand.

        1. Paul/Bozo, no one believed the A7 specks. Everyone wanted to at least test drive the new A7 iPhone.

Your friends and fellow workers at Samsung laughed their asses off at the 64 bit iPhone. Then they bought some iPhone 5S’s and shit themselves.

You were probably one of them. It takes a lot of time to rid yourself of the smell, doesn’t it.
