“With the iPhone 6 one of the most eagerly awaited products on the tech scene, newly surfaced images have shown the currently unconfirmed handset out in the wild,” Luke Johnson reports for Trusted Reviews. “The iPhone 6 box also shown off for the first time.”
“Although the shown off packaging is fitting with Apple’s past smartphone efforts, it wouldn’t be too hard for such a box to be mocked up,” Johnson reports. “As such, we must suggest that these leaks be taken with a considerable pinch of salt for now.”
Johnson reports, “Recent rumours have suggested that the iPhone 6 will be officially unveiled on September 9 ahead of hitting retailers the following Friday, September 19.”

Fake.
Fake. Surely Apple would highlight it’s new health app by placing it in the first page of preloaded apps.
And why does box show a gold iPhone but the one in the box is silver?
Just a friendly note: The word IT’S is the contraction of IT and IS. The possessive adjective is ITS, without an apostrophe. So your sentence means, Apple would highlight it is new health app. Best, m
In all fairness to the foreign English speakers (and there are probably quite a few of us here), it’s / its presents a bit of a challenge, as it is somewhat unique. Possessive form in English is normally formed by adding ‘s to the noun (President’s order, Apple’s dominance, etc). On the other hand, there is a common contraction for the auxiliary verbs (to do, to be, to have…), where we use the apostrophe (I’ve gone, They’re late, She’d seen that…). The confusion comes with 3rd person neuter (it), since the rule here conflicts with that for forming possessive (it’s). So, the English has it solved arbitrarily: possessive form is its (as in “Greed is its worst enemy”, contraction of the aux. verb to be is it’s(as in “It’s a good thing”. There you have it.
It’s not arbitrary. None of the pronouns get an apostrophe. We don’t write your’s, her’s, our’s their’s etc.
Well, perhaps not, but none of the pronouns get that possessive form in the regular way either (except third person neuter), by adding ‘s’ at the end (IOW, it is not I’s you’s we’s they’s). The possessive is irregular for all but third person neuter (it -> its). For a foreign speaker, it is a bit confusing. For a native, though, it shouldn’t be (and yet, we get apostrophies galore in plural, missing ‘s’ in possessive for names ending in ‘s’ as in Jobs’s family, etc…).
If you’re ever in doubt, just look at:

I thought about typing “If your ever…” just for fun!
Furthermore, they may have just been typing on their iOS device. I’ve noticed that my devices automatically insert “it’s” in place of “its” in nearly all cases. I usually spot it, but if someone’s typing quickly, they may not notice. A little grammatical context awareness in Apple’s autocorrect system would be nice!
In my experience, I find that native English speakers have the most trouble with it’s vs. its. Foreign language speakers see them differently because they usually learn from reading before hearing it (like native speakers).
That’s the same number of rows of icons as the 5 & 5s. I’d be surprised if they use the extra space to make bigger icons, only.
Conversely, I would have thought we’d have heard more about developers needing to take advantage of extra pixels.
Apparently you can test custom screen resolutions in Xcode for iOS UI development now? i.e. Apple hasn’t revealed what the new resolutions are, but devs can play around with different sizes between iPhone and iPad.
What a lovely way to start the week. Let’s have some fun with translation and between the lines.
The iPhone 6 box [or mock up] also shown off for the first time [not by Apple because we modern day pepperanazis have no respect for privacy]. With tipsters [stoolies] citing unnamed sources [fairies, trolls, and unicorns] in showing off the images, it has been claimed that the fully functioning iPhone 6 has been teased courtesy of an Appel beta tester. [Don’t forget that sale on Appel beta testicles later on this week].
“As such, we must suggest that these leaks be taken with a considerable pinch of salt for now.” [Cause the original jouranalist is lacking what it takes to either do real investigative reporting or wait to release the facts from the official source].
Total waste of netspace.
Next.
About 3x thicker than the 5s box. I’d say “nice try” but this shit ain’t even close.
This is so fake it’s not even funny, pretty sad that MDN would even run a story on it.
While I’m sure the packaging will resemble that of past years, this is a clear and obvious fake. Agreed with Rogifan that it’s sad MDN didn’t pick up on it.
More than likely, this is that iPhone 6 forgery that has been on sale in China for quite some time. It runs a heavily skinned Android that looks almost exactly like iOS 7.
And why Apple moves to A8 and iOS8 – because Android – robots can only mimic – AI has not been completed. Samsung Google all mimic what Apple has done. Hence no one out there has a clone done right.
