Apple’s iPad continues to crush all other tablets combined with 77% of Web traffic in US and Canada

“Once again Chitika Insights latest web traffic stats for tablets in the US and Canadian markets has rolled out and Apple has crushed their Android competitors handily,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple. “Chitika notes that ‘the proverbial elephant in the room is iPad usage share, which still stands at over 77% of all U.S. and Canadian tablet-based Web traffic.'”

“Chitika noted that Apple’s lead is only down a few percentage points year-over-year, but the current share is very notable in the context of the North American tablet market,” Purcher reports. “While it is uncertain if Apple can reverse the tide and grow its domestic tablet usage share in the coming months, it is clear that iPad users remain the most active aggregate tablet user base by a wide margin, with that likely to remain the case for the foreseeable future.”

Purcher reports, “The new number two player, Samsung, has grown significantly over the past year, states Chitika. Then again, that’s if you consider 4.7% to 8.3% anything to sing about.”

  1. Hahaha! Plus the revelation that Samsung LIED about the sales. Where is the Gov for that revelation? Hello!

  2. Agreed. Dear Chitika: stop pretending that iPad users are somehow more “active” than Android tablet users (both of them!) and admit the facts: SHIPMENTS DO NOT EQUAL SALES.

The iPad has 77 percent web share because 77 percent of all the tablets SOLD TO HUMANS are iPads. The end.
