“Work at Apple’s Campus 2 is well underway with most of the existing buildings now demolished and parking lot pavement removed, as shown in a recent aerial photograph (via MacGeneration) from Ron Cervi, a news and traffic reporter for KCBS,” Kelly Hodgkins reports for MacRumors. “Demolition on the site began in November after Apple received unanimous approval for the project from the Cupertino City Council.”
“Apple’s Campus 2 is a short distance away from the company’s current headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, California,” Hodgkins reports. “ighty percent of the barren landscape shown above will be vegetated with over 4,500 trees in an endeavor that will ‘bring California back to Cupertino.'”

I love apple products but this new building is a hideous monstrosity!!
I supose you would prefer a building with a few windows and a thatch roof.
Or faux leather roof and green felt corridors.

I couldn’t disagree more. I love the design and whole concept of this project. The building is designed for social interaction and a feeling of being outside. I’d love to work in such an environment. Nothing more boring than a huge rectangular room divided by ugly cubical walls.
This design is based on Steve Jobs dream of the kind of place he’d like to work in. Aesthetically, I find it to be beautiful. How many corporate offices can say that. Thank goodness you’re not the architect of this great project. Some of us prefer not to live or work in the bowels of mediocrity.
Lucky for you, you don’t have to worry about having to work at the new Apple campus. Maybe you’d be happy over in Redmond. I’m sure the campus there is full of cookie cutter ugly rectangular edifices with no spirit or innovation. Though I heard they have a zoo with a sweaty simian with poor social skills. You’ll feel right at home.
Perhaps you would like to tell us what sort of building you would prefer, hardly a long list of beautiful office buildings on the continent. This one is going to be one of the most stunning buildings you can imagine AND going to add greenery to the surrounding areas while replacing stale mediocre existing buildings. Some people are never pleased it seems.
It’s obviously not a building at all, but a launch site for a starship that will take one hundred thousand visionaries and their families to another star system, one which hosts a species that appreciates what Apple is trying to do, unlike the retrograde primates on this decaying planet.

Samsung has announced their new HQ will have larger windows than Apple’s.
Much larger; even awkwardly large, in fact. They’ll probably also have a similar look and feel, but just won’t be very attractive.
Only made out of plastic instead of glass.
