“Top executives of Samsung Electronics and Apple met last week in the US for a possible settlement in their ongoing legal battle but failed to reach an agreement,” Kim Taejung and Cho Mu Hyun report for ZDNet Korea.
“Local sources say JK Shin, head of Samsung’s mobile division, and Apple CEO Tim Cook met in the US,” Kim and Cho report. “Both were following the mitigation orders given out by the court in San Jose, California overseeing the litigation, which demanded an agreement by next February, 19.”

MacDailyNews Take: As we wrote back when this latest mediation was ordered:
Yet another court-imposed, time-wasting Koh-delay.
We can just imagine how these latest mediation talks will go:
Apple: “Stop stealing our patented IP and immediately pay us the billions of dollars you owe us that you made selling infringing iPhone- and iPad-wannabes. And apologize to us in British newspapers while you’re at it.”
Samsung: “Pay us 15x the normal rate for every one of our SEPs that you are using. We have not infringed any patents. We are the smartphone and tablet innovators. You don’t own rounded corners. By the way, thanks for this year’s $15 billion chip and display order.” (muttering “suckers” under their breath)
High-profile Mediator: “Where’s the nearest window ledge?”

What are you talking about?. Samsung profits billion-of-dollars by infringe iPhone patents.
Samsung is not going to give in to what Apple seeks. Is Koh on crack? Samsung wants everything for nothing and continue with the profits for….NO PRICE! Opportunistic cunning & greedy bastages!
No big surprise here, the ball is in Koh’s court now. I wonder if she’ll shave off more money from the bill.
What actually happened in the meeting is that Apple said that they weren’t going to compromise, then Samsung copied Apple like they always do, so no agreement was possible.
Koh-tex is just another clueless whoreintal.
