“In a stunningly predictable decision, Google has decided to use your name and profile to bolster the blinding authenticity of its advertising,” Chris Matyszczyk reports for CNET. “Yes, without paying you. Well, this is the free economy, isn’t it? Oddly, some people seem stunned by this — despite the fact that the program largely resembles Facebook’s Sponsored Stories.”
“So, evidence of a small movement against Google’s ploy has emerged. It involves putting naked Photoshopped pictures of Google’s Larry Page, clutching a rose to his face, on everyone’s profile page,” Matyszczyk reports. “Well, that’s close. A tweet retweeted by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber suggests that some Google users are choosing to replace their own Google Profile picture with a shot of Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt.”
Matyszczyk reports, “The idea is that very soon every single display ad on Google’s services will appear with a recommendation featuring Schmidt’s beatific features.”

It’s a mad, mad, mad world.
I just vomited in my mouth.
thats funny
Sounds EVIL
OK, I’m in.
Please Lord no. I cannot stand that pit faced puke. Almost as bad as Ballmer and his left nut.
I suggest we go ` step further and everyone put a picture of Adolf Hitler. Who wants to be associated with that guy.
Oh Man yes!! That would kill the project within hours!! 🙂
I can think of much more interesting images to use, especially considering the only thing I use that’s google-related is gmail as my disposable spam account.
It’s really painless to move to Yahoo or another service for your spam mail. Why give the Evil Empire any of your data at all?
.mac mail.
A quick search on Yahoo! Images for BABOONS ARSE turned up some delightfully repulsive close-ups:

What Hitler? Obama is more current… and just as popular as Hitler was when he started out.
douche
How about Schmidt with a Hitler mustache?
Schmidtler?
I just deleted my Google+ account in its entirety. May leave Gmail as well depending on how this shakes out.
That’s why I never even made a google account. The only thing where I wish I had it is for YouTube subscriptions, but I refuse to surrender to the Borg called Google
“…“Yes, without paying you. Well, this is the free economy, isn’t it? …”
Credit Bureaus don’t pay you for the use of your “personal” info, either ..
(and they make a fortune from it)
Guess Schmidt found himself a pretty good business model

I had hemorrhoids like that once.
Can anyone explain to me why anyone in their right mind uses Google anything. They are the ultimate identity thieves and no one seems to give a shit. They would sell their mothers’ identities for an advertising dollar. They even steal identities of people emailing others on gmail, even if just responding and not gmail users. Everyone, including me, is outraged by NSA intrusions, but they are small time compared to Google. The irony of their motto is astounding.
√ I just tossed an amusing Eric picture up as my Google avatar.
Excellent idea.

I’m done with Google. Already started backing up and am going to start paying for private email service. (I am planning on keeping my Apple email account.)
Google doesn’t need to pay you. They’re giving you free services. If you don’t like it, don’t use their services.
Google services are not free you are paying with your private data which google harvests. Google services are infact the most expensive services on the net private data is a very valued commodity and shady google want your data to make money from you.
