“For the first time in more than two years, more Americans visited Yahoo’s websites than Google’s, according to comScore Inc.’s Internet traffic data for July,” The Associated Press reports.
“The research firm said Wednesday that Yahoo Inc.’s websites saw 196.6 million unique U.S. visitors last month,” AP reports, “while Google’s sites had 192.3 million.”
“It’s hard to say if July’s figures are a blip or the start of an upward trend for Yahoo” AP reports. “The company is in the midst of a turnaround orchestrated by CEO Marissa Mayer.”
AP reports, “Mayer, who recently clocked in a year at the helm of the Internet company, has described her plan for Yahoo as a ‘series of sprints’ that will take several years to finish.”

Too bad she is going over to Microsoft….
Oh, Come on! It was a joke.
I had no idea the marketshare was that close between yahoo and google. I think I’ll switch. She’s so hot.
Yahoo has many more places to visit than Google. For example, Yahoo has a massive fantasy sports empire, great news, Flickr, answers, mail, and search. Google has Google search, a weaker news, mail, and YouTube.
So, your saying Marissa Mayer has the same draw as Danica Patrick?
Guys check out Vogue.com. She’s on the cover and what a spread. 😉
Nice blue dress!
Those shoes look like electronic home confinement devices. Wait. Now that has possibilities…
The quote of her in the last photo is stunning. Se says she didn’t set out to be at the top companies, that she’s geeky and shy and likes to code and that it jus happened. Wow. Talk about serendipity.
Looks like MDN has a new photo they can use, assuming they can get the rights to it.
Marissa Mayer, CEO. Tim Cook, COO. That works for me.
Fire Tim Cook.
Fire the trolls that want to fire Tim Cook.
We apologize for the sudden outburst of negativity against trolls. This behavior will not be tolerated and the producers assure you that these ogres have been sacked!
I always go to Yahoo first. More out of habit than anything else. I never felt Google was any better or worse, but Yahoo is what I’m used to. Does anyone use Bing?
Yep, I’ve only used Bing since that backstabber Schmidt pulled his little stunt. Never cared for Yahoo but guess I’ll have to check it out again.
Puhleeeeez. Have you guys seen the mess she authorized with Yahoo News site? It’s a complete failure. Try browsing there with your iPad. lol
With fantasy football season coming up, I see Yahoo continuing this trend.
Folks: it’s not Yahoo vs. Google. It’s all of Yahoo’s sites vs. all of Google’s sites. Big difference.
Awesome…f google
I told her that posting her naked pictures would generate more hits..
I only use Yahoo:)
How can the world two most dangerous pirates can win the fight with a beautiful woman sitting on a BIG red ball or wearing a purple dress laying on a bench in a sexy pose??
Those two pirates’ small 4 balls don’t stand a chance!! 🙂
She still has very close friends very high up at Google. It is not like she was fired you know.
And you do know that Google’s Market Cap is more than 10 times Yahoo. Right? Google could buy Yahoo 3 times with just its cash hoard.
It would have to clear regulatory oversight which is highly unlikely.
Damn she fine!!!
See what I mean?
Boo hoo. Get over it.
Thank you for providing Exhibit B.
But if it was guys gawking guys it would be ok, right?
You need to get out more, honey.
Way to not understand anything Wil!

The results might have something to do with Apple quietly changing the default search engine on all iOS devices.
An apt time for Apple to buy Yahoo or Yahoo to merge with Apple. Google and Samsung will wet their pants.
I opened this story just for that great shot of Marissa that I just never tire of… and got a bonus link to the Vogue pics.
Yes, today is a good day.
