Apple releases updated ‘Find My iPhone’ app with iOS 7 icons

“Apple today released an update for Find My iPhone, adding a newly redesigned iOS 7-style icon,” Juli Clover reports for MacRumors. “The new icon was first introduced on the iCloud.com beta page, which was updated in mid-August with a new set of iOS 7 icons.”

“It appears that the newest version of Find My iPhone may have been released prematurely, however, as the update gives an error message to anyone who attempts to use it without a registered developer account (paid or free),” Clover reports. “The update, which also includes bug fixes, will likely be patched by Apple shortly. Until a fix is available, non-developers should avoid updating the app.”

Clover reports, “Find My iPhone can be downloaded from the App Store for free.”

  1. Gizmodo had reported bugs with this update a few hours ago, and also updated their article to say the bugs had been fixed on Apple’s end. I just tested the app on my iPad – works like a champ.

  2. Works for me too, no developer account, my only issue is that I have 3 iPhone 5’s, lucky me I have to find out where are those two… They are offline. I only bought one. 😳

    1. I am never sure what you trolls think, you know we all have iPhone, we can easily look at the “find my phone” app and discover it IS Apple’s map data (not googol’s)

(actually it’s TomTom’s data, but it is the same as is in Apple’s maps app)
