“Along with the splashy announcement of OS X Mavericks on Monday, Apple quietly announced that there will be a server version as well, in keeping with past practice,” MacWindows reports.
“It will include new iOS 7 management features in Profile Manager, as well faster delivery of apps to iOS 7 and Macs,” MacWindows reports. “OS X Server’s Profile Manager (introduced with Lion) distributes software and settings to iOS devices and Macs. The new version will support iOS 7 and OS X Marvericks clients with ‘an array of new management features.'”

OS X Server includes a number of innovations that will help the people who use your network as well as the people who manage it. The new features in Xcode Server make it easier than ever for a Mac or iOS development team to create robust, reliable software, thanks to continuous integration, testing, and repository hosting services. Caching Server 2 speeds up the download and delivery of software through the App Store, Mac App Store, and iTunes Store, and it can now cache on your server for faster downloading to iOS 7 devices. And Profile Manager has an array of new management features for iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks that simplify software distribution of apps and books.

Well, I’m pleased.
I heard that server 10.6 was the last greatest version of OSX server. Every since they made it into an app, it basically sucks compared to 10.6. Anybody know if that is true?
I didn’t know they still made server versions since they made the HUGE misstake of discontinuing the Xserve.
After 10.6 they separated the server into an app. So you load say 10.8 and go buy the app on the App Store and run that, instead of running a total server version like 10.6
