“With global tablet shipments rising 142% in the first quarter of 2013, the post-PC era is showing no signs of slowing down,” Monetate reports in their Ecommerce Quarterly EQ1 2013 report. “In fact, there are now more Internet-connected devices in the United States than there are people, including 31.8 million Internet-accessible tablets.”
“One year ago, 88.62% of traffic to leading ecommerce websites came from traditional desktop or laptop computers,” Monetate reports. “Today, that number continues to shrink as 10.58% of visits now come from users on tablets while almost an equal amount of visitors (10.44%) use smartphones. Keep in mind that two years ago, traffic from iPads, Android, and Kindle Fire tablets was a paltry 2%.”

Monetate reports, “The EQ analyzes a random sample of over 500 million online shopping experiences using “same store” data across each calendar quarter.”

This is proof that people want an easy, simple to use, web solution. Apple delivers. I wonder if the AndyBot people have less web share because the poor battery life makes it close to impossible to use YouTube, Facebook, or other sites.
I can see the Bloomberg headline now: “Android tablets eating Apple to the core.” Subhead: “Android’s web usage up over 70% while web traffic from Apple’s iPad falls.”
That’s what I was thinking. If the size of the market is increasing and Andriod’s web visits is increasing then they are growing at a greater rate than the market. In the end which is more profitable and for who.

“Most”Android users do nothing with their phones, phablets, or tablets but there is shift in android usage. The mobile android went down about the same amount the android tablet use went up.
