New Rumsfeld book applauds late Steve Jobs for ‘standing up to Obama’

“Tea Party and conservative constitutional groups may be the new targets of the Internal Revenue Service, but former Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld reveals in his new book out this week that outspoken businesses critical of the federal government are also singled out by the IRS and Securities and Exchange Commission,” Paul Bedard reports for The Washington Examiner.

“In Rumsfeld’s Rules: Leadership Lessons in Business, Politics, War, and Life, the former chairman of G.D. Searle & Co. said that business leaders often bite their tongue rather than criticize presidents out of fear the administration will retaliate,” Bedard reports. “In the book, written before news broke about the IRS targeting conservative groups prompted by the Tea Party movement, Rumsfeld suggests that the agency has a record of targeting critics.”

Bedard reports, “The book applauds the late Steve Jobs for standing up to President Obama and warning him that his policies were hurting American competitiveness. He urges other business leaders and politicians to follow suit, and not be afraid of government criticism or scrutiny. ‘America’s economy was built on fortitude, not fear.'”

        1. You do know that report after report shows that the states and districts that get most federal money per capita are the ones that vote republican? Try doing some research on the issue.

        2. And as I’ve said and proven before, break that down into districts and you will find a majority of the time it is the heavily Democrat districts that get the most aid.

You need to dig a little deeper (if you were a cat, you’d be covering that with air….).

        3. Ha! Because there are THAT many heavily Democrat districts in places like Mississippi and Alaska. Those red states REALLY know how to dole out the perks to such a tiny minority! They must get free BMWs and Country Club memberships, eh?! Good luck with your little fantasy universe. You’re truly the poster boy for your clueless party!

        4. Look at the numbers. It’s a ratio. Larger (more populous) states will certainly have a lower ratio because they have more people. Find an article that isn’t manipulating statistics or at least understand them yourself. Find an article about how much debt blue states and cities are in and try to manipulate that.

        5. Oh, those pesky, pesky facts, huh?! You claim there’s no evidence, then when evidence rears it’s ugly head, you claim that it’s flawed and doesn’t count. How convenient!! The facts are that for a tiny minority of Democrats in these heavily red state populations to be sucking up enough federal cash to push them ahead of the blue states on “the take” would involve the Federal Government handing out car keys to BMWs and 6-figure golf memberships. Your ownership society philosophy is as much of a lie as your weapons of mass destruction was. You’ll say anything to deflect the truth that you worship individual greed at society’s expense. It’s the great Libertarian lie personified. But if you really want to prove me wrong, then by all means encourage your legislators and governors to give back all that Federal money. By all means! I dare you. Please prove me wrong!

        6. The public trough built the Interstate Highway Sytsem. The public trough make billionaires of many with the internet. The public trough educated you… or didn’t. That’s debatable.

        7. uh, Mr Genius, WHO is the public? (insert The American taxpayer here)…as far as public education I was educated in private schools, however my parents had the honor of paying for Feducation even though they never accessed or used it. You don’t GET IT, the public trough, as you call it, is not some mystical, magical pool of altruism..it is the money stolen by force from those who make an honest living. Since you are incredibly stupid, I will define “honest living” for youL It is the true wealth created by the exchange of goods and services by free will.

        8. You don’t get it.

By definition societies are created for the common good. Just because you want to pretend the common good is one thing and I think it should be another doesn’t make you righteous or right.

I would bet that that private school you are so proud of received funds from the public trough in one way or another. Maybe they didn’t feed you rat meat for lunch because the private trough made sure your meals were up to standard. Maybe the road that went by the front was paid for from the private trough. Oh wait, the teachers were educated in public schools and colleges with some of that Feducation money you seem to think is so evil.

Get off your high horse. You have benefited mightily from the public trough all through your pathetic life.

        9. uhhhhmmmmmm… it’s benefited from just about everyone or are you special in some way. It has benefited from me, my friends, my enemies but it’s purpose is to benefit us all, ultimately.

        1. I’d call the order to stand down to defend an American embassy that results in murder “high crime.” Throw in sic’in the collection agency of Federal Reserve on constitutionalists “treason.”…Obama Messiah is goin’ down.

        2. So Obama gave an order to “stand down” in the middle of a fluid situation? Do you really want to make that false claim.

So the IRS, under an administrator appointed by bush who scrutinized the flurry of “patriotic” non profits that came out of the woodworks, independent and unknown to Obama is a crime of Obama’s making? A bunch of racist zealots who happened to get their patriotic zeal as soon as a Black Man became President is obviously a concerted effort by Obama to disenfranchise “real Americans”. Is that it.

Am I correct in your “thinking”?

        3. You’re just gonna have to come up with something besides the “a bunch of racist zealots” race card for American constitutionalists. That mantra du jour has become very tired and lame.

        4. You know what. I was a “patriot” making the same statements that those “racist zealots” are making 20 years before they crawled out of the woodwork. As a matter of fact, 20 years ago these same folks would and did criticize me for those same complaints.

They wrapped themselves in the flag and called me names but now that a Black Man is President their true colors come out.

You really need to believe the evidence of your own eyes.

        5. Actually, I have an explorers heart. Quite independent. I have always wanted to be there with Lewis & Clark. Maybe have been a cowboy. An explorer or pioneer.

But you have your preconceived notions. You would be surprised at what I have done, where I have been. A pioneer in my own right.

        6. oh, an “explorers heart” is what you have. Gee, that changes all truth throughout the history of man. I would contact the media regarding this epiphany, but as you may know, Obama Messiah’s administration intercepts their correspondence in total illegal disregard of the First and Fourth Amendments.

        7. Once again, you do not “get it.” An intervention by the United States military to defend American citizens and property was pleaded to the State Department multiple times. The military was told to “stand-down.” Only the commander-in-chief can make such a decision. This alone, is a treasonable offense on the part of Obama Messiah. As your arguments have become flippant and shallow, this concludes my last response to you regarding this subject…like the prodigal son, I hope you return to principles and reaffirm them. You were probably an interesting person in the 1980’s.

        8. hahaha, the only arrow you have is through your empty head. It’s nauseating enough that you’re an intellectual coward, please don’t compound it by gettin’ all metaphysical on me.

        9. The link for the video was from a TV show I helped KOMO TV in Seattle make called CompuKids about kids, computers and education. I wasn’t being snide or anything.

I (through the Byte Shop) supplied all of the Apple Computers and TOPO the robot. I ran the robot throughout the show and appeared in the Art segment at about 20 minutes in. I was the Technical Consultant to the show and at the time was doing Education Sales for the Byte Shop.

I was probably the first salesperson not affiliated with a major manufacturer to have a million dollar year. I had the Seattle and environs market locked up tight.

I just thought you might like to have a glimpse of some educational computer history. View it or not.

        10. Constitutionalists? Seriously, Dude? You wiped your butt with the Bill of Rights the second it became convenient after 9-11. I think you’re disingenuous and too engaged in your own self fantasy of being “patriots” to see that you could care less about the constitution. You’re a pair of jackboots and an armband shy of your true self. After all, Bush said it best: “If this were a dictatorship it would be a heck of a lot easier… as long as I’m the dictator. Hehehe.”

        11. You wingnuts are a gas, untold thousands killed during Rummy & Shrubs war criminal administration, and all you idiots want to talk about is Obama. Lets refresh your tiny little brains shall we:

Militants dressed as policemen attacked the embassy with RPGs, rifles, grenades and car bombs. Six Yemeni soldiers and seven civilians were killed. Sixteen more were injured.

        12. Can you show ANY order from the Bush administration showing the deliberate stripping of Marine guards from any of those consulates or embassies, any hiring of Al Qaida affiliates as contract security to replace the missing Marines, or any willful disregard for repeated requests for replacements for the removed security detachments, or any orders to not defend them, or any orders for military assets to “stand down” instead of attempting to go to the rescue of those under attack? Or any deliberate cover ups of those attacks as being done by terrorists? I thought not.

        13. uh, no one mentioned any defense of Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, etc; the question was: Has Obama Messiah committed any impeachable offenses? You need to take a reading comprehension course.

        14. Let me repeat what he said, in hopes that you might understand:

Since there is PRECEDENCE (i.e. this has been done before, many times, without legal consequences), it would be difficult to suddenly turn it into an impeachable offense.

        15. hardly, because the previous congresses were too weak and intimidated to initiate impeachment, doesn’t mean the present one is. Your “two wrongs make a right” argument makes me vomit.

        16. The precedents are quite valid; one of those previous congresses wasn’t too weak to impeach Clinton. They didn’t impeach him for starting illegal wars, though; they did it for putting a cigar in a wrong place… So it is clear that the American congress simply does NOT want to impeach their presidents when it comes to starting illegal wars. Logical conclusion is that this doesn’t seem to be impeachable offense.

        17. No one mentioned phallic cigars or illegal wars; the accusations were Obama Messiah’s executive decision to stand-down militarily in defense of an American embassy that resulted in the murders of American citizens, his use of the Internal Revenue Service to harass constitutionalists (the same constitution that he took an oath to God to defend and protect twice) and you can add the illegal use of the “Justice” Department to intercept telephonic correspondence of Associated Press reporters (in direct violation of the First Amendment.) You need to take a reading comprehension course, you read without grasping what is being expressed.

        18. You don’t know that I have lost anything. You don’t know what I believe about Constitutional principles. You don’t know that I used to work with the Arizona Militia. You don’t know me at all beyond the fact that I hate that people that benefit from the “public through” everyday, whine about the public trough.

    1. If Justice were held to the current crop of miscreants, it would be too full for Don Rumsfeld! If this were a comic book story, the Obama Administration, as it is, would be called the “Injustice League”!

  1. The socialist only has one approach. No matter what, the impulse of a socialist is to tax and spend. Spending as recklessly as possible because the basic instinct of a socialist is to level the playing field not by giving incentives to hardworking people but to tax them and pay the lazy, the layabouts, and the indolent. That is the socialist’s view of the world, a utopia where the productive members of society pay 100% taxes to subsidise the crack whores.

Obama is the embodiment of a socialist. Socialists are dangerous because to them debt is a plaything, not a latent volcano waiting to explode in your faces 5 years down the road. But by then the socialist will have left office and left the problem for someone else to solve. He will be sipping champange at taxpayer’s expense in a government funded holiday home in Hawaii.

    1. ” That is the socialist’s view of the world, a utopia where the productive members of society pay 100% taxes to subsidise the crack whores.”

I think you don’t know what a utopia is.

Look, you can argue tax policy and politics here and anywhere else. Fine. But if your starting point is that extreme then nothing else you write can be taken seriously. Moderates like myself who see the pitfalls of both pure capitalism and communism and would not pretend to have all of the answers but, rather, take policy on a case by case basis with things like facts and empirical data deciding the winner, find your brand of absolutism rather nauseating.

      1. Those who stand in the middle of the road shall get runneth over. Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything. Sit on the fence and you’ll merely get splinters in your ass.

        1. Well then no wonder we are in the political shape we’re in. By your logic, policy should always be decided by which of the two biggest loons in the building has either the most friends or deepest pockets.

        2. Compromise, dialogue, and democracy are not “standing for nothing”. Quite the opposite. These are the people who get results. It’s the obstructionist ideologues who cripple democracy at every step.

        1. With such opinions, you come across as quite clueless and politically indoctrinated. While I’m not sure if you really are, or you just get carried away by partisan politics in MDN discussions, I can’t help but wonder…

      1. Only if you listen to Obama. The Congressional budget office released far different numbers using more reasonable income projections than Obama’s rosy ones showing deficits of over a trillion dollars for every year of Obama’s tenure with far greater deficits to come when Obamacare kicks in. These are easily found. . . and even they are proving optimistic.

    2. “…and pay the lazy, the layabouts, and the indolent.”

So do you believe the majority of the unemployed people are lazy?

I know this might be a stretch for you, but is it possible that millions of really smart hardworking people had their jobs outsourced, trained their replacements, or had their factories shipped overseas through no fault of their own?

….well, maybe they are all lazy. –but if you or I got fired tomorrow, then things would be different. In fact, we’d be the only two hard working smart people dumped in with all the rest of the lazy unemployed losers!

…but truthfully, I think I’m lazy too because I’d accept unemployment money and government health care and any thing else I could get for free to feed my family. Even food stamps if I could get them, but I am not as moral as you.

That’s why you never see Republicans collecting Unemployment insurance. Republicans like you practice what you preach and don’t participate in the Socialist ways, and the rest of us really admire you for that, and that’s why there are only Democrats on the unemployment line.

In fact, all Democrats should say “thank you” because without Republicans like you refusing Socialism there might not be money left over for the rest of us lazy folks.

So once again, thank you “Ballmer’s Left Nut” for being a Republican and taking a stand against Socialism and practicing what you preach. You would never collect Unemployment — would you?

      1. If they priced their labor out of the market, then it is their fault, that the company they used to work for, went to a district with lower costing labor.

Cheaper labor offshore has saved many a company from bankruptcy. Apple Inc. is only one of many companies forced to relocate for cheaper labor or die.

        1. “If they priced their labor out of the market”

Really? That was ignorant. American wages are being priced according to the cost of living in America not India or China. Make sense? Can you live on 50 Rupees a day? If not, then aren’t you pricing yourself out of the market?

People like you always talk the talk until it’s YOUR turn to be outsourced. Then EVERYTHING changes. I’m a programmer and I’ve worked on many outsourced projects. When the outsourcing starts the Democrats AND Republicans get fired.

I find it amazing how quickly Republicans turn into Socialists the minute they get fired.

You guys are all a bunch of hypocrites. None of you really believe what you say. You just blame everyone else for their failures until you fail, then overnight, you start demanding your entitlements!

    3. “Obama is the embodiment of a socialist”? Do you even know what a socialist IS? Seriously, “nut”?! Just because it’s your favorite derogatory insult, doesn’t mean that it actually constitutes a real definition. If Obama is a socialist, he’s your dream-come-true-socialist, because he’d be REALLY clueless about the difference between public ownership of the resources and the private sector. Just because he doesn’t advocate AS MUCH of a private sector role in American Society as you’d like does NOT make him a socialist any more than does the fact that the similarities between your being a human being like Hitler was make you a card-carrying, jackbooted Fascist. Though, admittedly I don’t know THAT much about your politics, yet….

        1. No, that’s not how it works. Liberals can compare conservatives to Hitler all day, and be congratulated for it; but conservatives comparing a liberal to Hitler means that we’re idiots, don’t know what we’re talking about, are too backward to live, are rednecks, or any other gratuitous insult that comes to mind, and the rules of the game say that we have to just sit there and take it.

Liberalism is automatically superior, as are liberals.

At least in their own minds.

        2. Well, it’s I think it’s ‘Publicans advocating the merits of Dictatorship when President Bush intoned “If this were a dictatorship it would be a heck of a lot easier… as long as I’m the dictator. Hehehe.” The fact is, all that “strong leader” talk that you go on and on about is really just a rehashing of the Fuehrer Principle (Führerprinzip). The tactics are the same, and the philosophy is lifted from the same sources. Let’s just face the facts here. ‘Publicanism is devoid of it’s own principles and has turned toward fascism to define itself.

    4. Is universal education a socialist value? Should the ‘rich’ pay the exact same as the poor for education? Who would you envision will take care of the rich when they get old? The other rich educated people? Should you help pay for health care for the poor when there is an epidemic? Germs always know that they should not pass from the poor to the rich. When will you get your mind around the fact that we are all in this world for good and no one is getting out alive. Some times you have to see the big picture and take care of the poor through education and health care to ensure the success of the world.

      1. If they are rich their children go to better schools.

If they are rich they pay people to take care of them when they are old.

If they are rich they pay for the best medical help money can buy.

        What was your point?

      2. All I know is I ran across some of my Dad’s old Middle Class paychecks from the 1960’s and ’70’s and he got to actually keep a lot more of what he earned per hour than I get to take home. That is the part I resent most with todays Socialist style “Share the Wealth” attitude (even if you aren’t wealthy). He put 2 of us through 4 year Universities without a single loan. Today’s middle class TAKE HOME pay has us scrimping pennies to put one kid through a 2 year community college. High taxes on the Middle Class plus layoffs and accepting new jobs at lower pay is the way of the world now.

      1. And ONE term of Obama’s watch has added more debt than ALL of the previous presidents including Bush II. . . and that is not including the full implementation of Obamacare due to start in 2014. . . Or the debt the states are toting up! Three courses of Quantitative Easing (read printing and borrowing trillions of dollars) to pour into circulation WILL eventually dilute the money we all have in our investments and in our value tied up in our property, when they come home to roost. Read INFLATION. This will happen. The unfounded liability added by all the new programs the democrats have added is rapidly approaching $100 Trillion. That includes the $25 Trillion actually on the books by the end of obama’s terms. My degree is in Economics and I will tell you these figures are conservative estimates. . . and Obama and the Democrat are not just fiddling while Rome burns, they are organizing a symphonic orchestra!

    5. The idiot spews forth with even more right wing garbage. As has been said before, ‘a little knowledge is a dangerous thing’ and this saying is exemplified by BLN’s rants and idiocy.

Oh yes and by the way … I fucked Minka last night 🙂

  2. Rummy lied us into a war for WMDs he knew were not there. The UN Arms inspectors told him that the chemical weapons sold to Iraq by US companies via special envoy Donald Rumsfeld had been destroyed.

Rummy and political underling Wolfowitz also openly mocked Army CoS Eric Shinseki’s prophetic take on what would happen under the ‘on the cheap’ invasion of Iraq would bring and undercut him for telling truths inconvenient to NeoCon political goals.

The Bush Crime Family told us the invasion would be quick, easy, cheap and our troops would be greeted as liberators. They also told us that Iraq was involved with 9-11 and had WMDs.

Rummy and the rest of the cabal are war criminals. I would love to see Rummy standing before the ICC right next to Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rice, Pearle and all the rest of the criminal cabal.

      1. You linked statement by Clinton was based upon statements and information from Rumsfeld, Tenet, and Powell, among others. The fact that she believed them is very disturbing, but it does not point to any evidence that she intentionally lied to the American public.

At the time she was a Senator. She didn’t run the DoD. She relied on information from Rumsfeld.

She didn’t run the CIA. She relied on information from Tenet for that.

She didn’t run the state department or its information collection arms. She relied on Powell for that.

While the loss of four lives in Benghazi is horrific it pales in comparison to the number of U.S. lives lost in Iraq due to inaccurate information repeated and strongly put forth by the administration’s leaders back in 2002.

        1. The question is not whether the information turned out to be inaccurate; the question is “what was known, or reliably believed, at the time?” Enough of the Congress (both sides of the aisle) believed that the information was reliable to get an authorizing resolution passed; enough allies believed that the information was reliable to get an alliance going to prosecute the war. Most telling, enough Muslim governments believed that the information was reliable to get Muslims to support a war effort led by non-Muslims against other Muslims. If the information was indeed inaccurate, it was sure good enough to fool a lot of people.

Now – did the President really believe that the compound was NOT under attack, with consequent danger to a US Ambassador, and was that belief so important that it justified breaking the chain of command and ordering a stand-down of forces? Was there some national security interest that justified putting a US Ambassador – a person who, legally and diplomatically, embodies the USA – in deadly danger GENERATED by that order to stand down?

      2. Why is it that Americans think we live in a binary world? If I criticize a Republican it does not mean I am a Democrat or an apologist for Democrats.

There are more than 2 viewpoints to many things in a complex world.

The facts remain that the PNAC/NeoCon/Bush II crowd lied us into a war we did not need to fight, got a lot of innocent people killed, got a lot of troops killed or injured, spent trillions and found not on thing they based the war on to be true.

Our Grandchildren will still be paying off the Iraq War and it’s deferred costs.

It did not have to be this way.

        1. “If I criticize a Republican it does not mean I am a Democrat or an apologist for Democrats”

Because if it barks like a duck,
          it is probably a platy-pus…..

        2. Excellent point Darwin Evolved. What you are pointing out is 1D (one dimensional) thinking. It’s as stupid as we humans get. It’s even lower in intelligence than the already diabolically stupid 2D (two dimensional) thinking inherent in the standard political scale of left, center and right.

Reality does not conform to 1D or 2D thinking. Reality is complexity beyond human comprehension. But that does not provide any excuse for lowering one’s mind to the level of babies and toddlers.

3D thinking for me, thank you.

    1. The evidence was overwhelming and every member of Congress voted to give Bush the authority to use force. In fact WMDs were found including evidence of chemical, nerve agents, and biological weapon development. We telegraphed our invasion so much in the media that much of their stockpiled weaponry was moved to Syria. Satellite imagery showed bumper-to-bumper caravans of trucks moving materiel into Syria night and day for three weeks prior to the invasion. These were NOT conventional weapons being moved. Eight portable biological generation laboraties on trucks were found but were explained away as Hydrogen generators for weather balloons. These trucks had no compressors and no tanks to amass hydrogen and biological generation of hydrogen cannot be done fast enough in situ to fill any balloon. Experts originally identified them as portable bio-weapon generation manufacturing plants. The MSM wanting there to be no weapons of mass destruction latched onto the ludicrous weather balloon explanation to make them go away. They also ignored the 500 tons of yellow cake Uranium we found.

Here is just one of the joint resolutions authorizing the use of military force:
      _______________________________________
      Preamble
      Joint Resolution
To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.
Whereas, on September 11, 2001, acts of treacherous violence were committed against the United States and its citizens; and
Whereas, such acts render it both necessary and appropriate that the United States exercise its rights to self-defense and to protect United States citizens both at home and abroad; and

      Whereas, in light of the threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by these grave acts of violence;

      and

Whereas, such acts continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States; and
Whereas, the President has authority under the Constitution to take action to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism against the United States: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
      Section 1 – Short Title
This joint resolution may be cited as the ‘Authorization for Use of Military Force’.
Section 2 – Authorization For Use of United States Armed Forces [edit]
      (a) IN GENERAL- That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.

  3. And thus we keep electing a man who continues to drive America into the ground and spews hatred and division to stay in power! No business, military or executive experience before being elected! Embraced by godless Hollywood and America haters alike! Emboldened by no consequence from a complicit media who worship him like a messiah. Steve was wrong: he was reelected! Mostly because democrats voted up to 6 times each! Sad!

    1. The only people “spew[ing] hatred and division” are people like you. Republicans have shown time and time again they place party politics above the good of the country and the American people, and people like you just confirm it. AND you continue to spread such ridiculous lies that you do nothing but harm your own cause. Sad.

    2. 1. Government is not a business, it’s goal is not to profit.
      2. Government should seek to avoid war at all costs, because the real costs (human life are not as easily replaced as dollars.
      3. Given 1 & 2, why do we need ‘businessmen’ running government? So they can continue to fleece us all like they do now? You do realize that it is big business that pulls their strings, not us right?
      4. Godlessness? Stiff your fairytale up your ass, this isn’t Afghanistan, we need no theocracy. Take your Taliban tactics away.
      5. Our media is controlled by big business, it has no liberal agenda. It’s goal is to divide and busy us with shiny baubles while we are fleeced of every dollar.
      6. democrats did not vote 6 times each. Most voting fraud this cycle was committed by republicans. There is also serious concern about the fact that two companies, run by right wingers like you control over 80% of the electronic voting machines used in elections.
      7. You remain a poorly informed, partisan hack, moron.

      1. @Truth

Very intelligent response. I was going to respond myself, but everything you said was said better than I could say it myself so I will only respond to you and say “thanks, I wish more people thought like you”.

Your thoughts are so clear and obvious, I can’t understand why everyone doesn’t just agree with you and end their stupidity.

        Thanks again.

  4. “who continues to drive America into the ground”
The DOW just hit the highest it has EVER been.
As Bill Maher put it, “If Obama’s a socialist, he’s the worst I’ve ever seen.”

“Mostly because democrats voted up to 6 times each!”
No answer to that, except to say you are a deluded, raving lunatic. See, “Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them; A fair and balanced look at the Right in America” by Al Franken.

See midwestmac for some ideas on what it means to DISCUSS ideas — then go somewhere else to do so.

  5. I see Rumsfeld is trying to scare the old people again. Obama is not a socialist he’s not really a liberal. I am really not surprised if the IRS is looking into tea party finances seeing as it’s owned by a few billionaires who are masters at avoiding taxes. I wonder if Rumsfeld realizes that Jobs was not a christian something that now days the right finds as, if not more offensive than being a socialist.

    1. I just saw Obama compared to Eisenhower (last Republican with much of a brain). Both have struggled mightily to keep us out of another chicken-hawk war. Both were business-friendly and temperamentally conservative. It’s an intriguing comparison with more than a little truth.

  6. While Donald Scumfeld was writing his book did he mention which Obama policy Steve was referring to? In my recollection, Steve was referring to how China became the premier supply chain country in the world and that is what hurt American competitiveness. When did that happen? According to Assfeld, January 22, 2009. But in fact, this happened while Flumsfeld was fucking up Iraq, while America was investing trillions in defense and security rather than business competitiveness. Did this miserable, lying, trash Rumsfeld mention that under Obama, American corporations are making record profits and paying the lowest effective tax rates in our lifetimes? No, I don’t imagine he did. Why not?

  7. Nausea ensues…

Rumsfeld, back in the news. The man who helped put Sadam Husein in power in Iraq, then relented and helped invent the Iraq war so he could kill him off. Our US government at its WORST.

    FSCK -U Bumsfeld.
    :-Q******

  8. And yes I will provide my comments for the debate on welfare.

If it was so that there actually would be as many jobs around as US needed there would be 0% unemployed people. I have heard some people say they can not understand how someone can’t find a new job within a year. I think that shows a lack of understanding or that they have never been in a situation like that themselves. There is no assurance that even if you take an education 1-2 years and learn a new skill that you would get a job. The job market is always moving. Maybe some of the unemployed people do find a new job after a while but there will always e new ones dropping out. I don’t believe that 0% unemployment is ever achievable. I think it is a part of how an economy and a society works. It is a Buffett zone. It does it consist if the same people all the time. People drop in people drop out. Companies must also be willing to hire, you can’t just blame the worker. And the truth is that most people aren’t a Steve Jobs. And I don’t think it’s is possible for everyone to be that. And by that I mean is that society needs everyone, from the low skilled worker to the highly trained engineer. Every one wont be able to start and build a successful company like Apple. And the reason I say that is because I don’t think the society would be able to support that as it is build. A successful company need others to be less successful in order to be successful. In order for there to be a positive trade balance there needs to be a negative at some other end, some other country. For someone to make allot of money there needs to be some one that makes less money. If it was as easy for everyone just to GET A JOB, or get a new education and get a new job the US would add a mlion jobs a month and be out of the recession in. I time. I don’t think that is possible. The jobs that are created are supported by money that someone else is spending. That money has to come from somewhere. The last 10-20 years spending and growth has been supported by credit. That has ended. Credit is basically money you borrow from the future. It has to be payed back some time or defaulted on i.e. a mess. The car industry in the US During the last 10 years was supported by the money people took out from their houses which means people borrowed from the future. Things must always go back to equilibrium some time. And it did.
