“According to new Justice Department e-mails obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Northern California, and published on Wednesday, federal investigators have been routinely using ‘stingrays’ to catch bad guys,” Cyrus Farivar reports for Ars Technica.
“A stingray is a device that can create a false cellphone tower, and allows authorities to determine a particular mobile phone’s precise location. Stingrays aren’t new—law enforcement agencies nationwide are believed to have been using them for years,” Farivar reports. “But one e-mail in the new trove reveals something brand-new: that the Feds were not fully clear about the fact that they were specifically using stingrays (also known as ‘IMSI catchers’) when asking for permission to conduct electronic surveillance from federal magistrate judges.”
Farivar reports, “Groups like the ACLU are concerned that unsupervised use of such technology can inadvertently collect information of people who are not suspected of any crime, nor under investigation.”

Here is the problem: we aren’t being asked if we want to give up other constitutional rights. They are being taken by executive orders, and being given away by the collective votes of the low information voters who intuitively look the other way because they don’t want to lose their anticipated place in the line of those who stand to receive political favor.
Look at history, has happened over and over again through the centuries. We just had a better situation for a couple of hundred years. Let the flames begin.

I’m pretty sure that Paul isn’t saying he’s alright with it, he’s saying that no matter what steps you take, authority will find a way to take what it wants, with scant regard to whatever ‘rights’ may be in place, whether you have a written constitution or not.

Expecting that your transmissions are really private is like leaving a 20 dollar bill by the sidewalk and expecting no one to snatch because technically it is your property.
I would welcome detailed data tracking personally. It is when there are gaps in tracking me that there can be misinterpretation. I am not doing anything wrong and would welcome the state to prove it with detailed information. Most of us are completely innocent and have nothing to hide if the information is complete.
We are all sheeple. Ignorant and naive and believe anything they tell us, especially when they lie and say it is for the greater good. It’s like false promises that politicians come up with to raise taxes. And then you find out later that your tax increase is paying for somebody’s $400,000 a year salary for life in retirement. All they are is a bunch of big, fat, boneheaded lairs, and we are sheeple and suckers for listening and voting for them.
