“Apple is attempting to revive a patent-infringement claim against Google’s Motorola Mobility unit over touch-screen technology, according to Reuters,” Roger Cheng reports for CNET.
“Apple asked a U.S. appeals court to reinstate the claim after the U.S. International Trade Commission had earlier ruled that one of the related patents was invalid and Motorola hadn’t infringed on the second patent,” Cheng reports. “Apple contends that Motorola is copying its technology that allows for transparent screens to sense multiple touches in different locations, allowing users to operate a phone by swiping or tapping the screen. The technology is fundamental to the current generation of smartphones used in virtually every such device.”

I hope they have suitable ER equipment to resuscitate this case successfully! No need for mouth to mouth on the first half of the case, but for the second patent, they need to go all out for full recovery of the patient. All the best Apple inc.!!!

Apple has every right to protect its stuff, but I wonder if this is really a wise move on Apple’s part right now. Motorola is already floundering and I believe Apple should think twice about public perception in making a move like this at this time. Public perception is a long-term investment and Apple knows this better than anybody.
Google needs to gang up with other mobile vendors to put Apple out of business with a sue-frenzy to teach them a lesson.
