“Apple has been granted a patent today for their invention relating to a 3D version of OS X titled ‘Multi-Dimensional Application Environment,'” Jack Purcher reports for PatentlyApple.
“Apple credits John Louch, Imran Chaudhri, Christopher Hynes, Tim Bumgarner and Eric Peyton as the inventors of this granted patent which was originally filed in Q2 2007,” Purcher reports.

The memories of Apple’s Xspace interface. It was an interesting way to browse the Internet while it lasted.
Several years ago I was watching an awsome Steve Jobs keynote & for a few seconds on screen I thought I saw a 3D Dock with depth & it had several rows of Doc icons behind it. I don’t remember which event but I’m guessing it was the agle of the camera or something.
Interestingly, noting the 2007 filing, why does it take 6 years for a government agency to act on something? Wait, I guess I answered my own question.
It has nothing to do with your dream of endless bureaucracy. It has to do with exposing the patent to investigation to make sure that it truly is a patentable piece of property. Don’t worry, Pat Pending will save the day

I hope that they are finally going to work on the OUI (Object User Interface). The GUI (Graphic User Interface) is great but face it, a desktop as a working environment is a paradigm one dimension short.
