“According to a report from German language blog iFun, Apple is preparing to release iOS 6.1.2 early next week to address the much talked about Microsoft Exchange bug and passcode vulnerability,” Jordan Kahn reports for 9ti5Mac.
“iFun confirmed the update would land sometime before Feb. 21 based on its checks with carriers,” Kahn reports. “iFun accurately predicted the launch of iOS 6.1.1 through the same sources earlier this month.”

Because this passcode vulnerability is so intuitive and simple.
1. Lock device
2. Slide to unlock
3. Tap emergency call
4. Hold sleep button until the power down prompt shows. Click cancel, you will notice the status bar turn blue. Type in 911 or your emergency number and click call then cancel it asap so the call dosen’t go through.
5. Lock your device with the sleep button then turn it on using the home button.
6. Slide to unlock then hold the sleep button and in 3 seconds tap emergency call. This will spazz out the phone and cause it to open.
Simple!!!
Awwwwwheckyeah, chlld’s play! 😉
well, duh?!? Doesn’t everybody do these simple steps whenever they get any new something. You should see what my toaster does with only 14 simple steps!
‘ dosen’t go through.’
doesn’t! Spelling police.
It was a copy and paste job. Blame MacRumors for their lack of proofreading.
So put it in quotes and cite your source and perhaps even proofread it yourself and add the “[sic]” annotation. Personally, I don’t care much about misspellings like that, but passing the buck raises my ire just enough to post a reply 😉
Just because it takes more than 3 steps, it doesn’t mean it’s not a security vulnerability.
Apparently, this ability to bypass the security code is nothing new. Had Samsung allowed the same security breach Apple fanbois would be barking like bitches.
On Android, this would be considered a “feature”.
Empirical evidence that Apple fanbois are inherently biased and moronic.
Evidence that fandroids do not have a life because they post on MDN.
You have a point. I’ve never even been on an Android forum, let alone post on one.
Absolutely, never leave your familiar cage of Apple fanboyism. Stay within the confines of your narrow-minded bigotry, self-imposed ignorance, and slavish obedience to the code. You probably aren’t able to handle anything that isn’t spoofed to you by MDN and sanctioned by other fanbois.
there are actually Android forums?
Really? You think that because someone who doesn’t own an Android device doesn’t go seek out and frequent Android news sites this makes him all those epithets you threw around? Wow.
Full disclosure: I’ve never read a Harley Davidson news site, nor an Adidas news site, nor a….
Epithets? Apple fanbois regurgitate epithets regularly when Apple is criticized. Besides, making the casual observation of an Apple fanboy’s inherent bias and hypocrisy alone can generate a slew of cannards. Too bad for their angst and frustration. I never sacrificed my intellect or integrity on the altar of Apple fandom.
Which part of you is dominant? The “Mac” or the “freek”? Based on your answer I can understand where the hate pattern is coming from.
Hate? Finding fault with Apple is hate? Disagreeing with Apple fanbois hate? It’s obvious that someone doesn’t repeat the MDN party line you fanbois get your little panties in a bind. Too bad. I couldn’t care less.
My snarky comment was just an attempt at humor. Your response was expected because you are a one-trick pony.
MacFreek is:
* Anti-Apple
* Obsessed with us
* A negative Nancy
“I couldn’t care less.”
Oh I bet you could. (Please make sure your next comment has the term “fanboi”, so everything is uniform and not unique.)
The ability to bypass iOS security was one feature Samsung didn’t copy from Apple.
You can’t copy security flaws when you don’t have security features.
Thanks Freek for taking time off from masturbating and picking your nose to share your insight on this subject. Now crawl back under your rock where you belong.
Oh, you must be the leading scholar and intellectual for MDN and Apple fanbois. Let me congratulate you on your ability to use polysyllabic words.
It’s not the words, it’s the substance. In your case- lack of…
Dazzle the world with your brilliance by explaining the esoteric post by your intellectual equal.
Children, behave!
Yawn!!!
Storm in a tea cup. Wake me up when the bickering is over please!
Freek:
Definition:
Person who has Mac in their name, is a Fandroid yet lives on an Apple centric website stirring up s..t.
Oh, how little you know and how eagerly you profess your ignorance.
All true.
Thanks for agreeing with me.
The security vulnerability doesn’t concern me… But I have to use Exchange for work, and leaving my iPhone on my WiFi network since 6.1 slows the network to a crawl. I’ll be very happy once this bug is fixed in 6.1.2.
Is this really that big a deal? To Macfreek, yes. To the relevant population, no.
Thanks Cubert for highlighting the vulnerability. How many people have actually been affected by this?
Superb website. Lots of handy details here. I am giving this to a number of pals ans likewise discussing inside delectable. As well as, appreciate it on the sweating!
Wonderful site. Plenty of helpful information here. We are delivering it for some pals ans additionally sharing within delectable. And certainly, because of ones sweating!
