2013 Chevrolet Sonic and Spark vehicles with Chevrolet MyLink are now available with Apple’s Siri.
“The Chevy Sonic and Spark are the first vehicles to offer Siri Eyes Free integration,” said Cristi Landy, Chevrolet marketing director for small cars, in a statement. “Safe, easy, reliable and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers, and Siri complements MyLink’s existing capabilities to help deliver an incredible driving experience.”
Through the cars’ standard Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, customers with a compatible iPhone* running iOS 6 can direct Siri to perform a number of tasks while they safely keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel. To further minimize distraction, Siri takes hands-free functionality even further with an Eyes Free mode which enables drivers to interact with their iPhones using nothing more than their voice while keeping the device’s screen from lighting up.
Owners simply connect their iPhone with the MyLink radio via Bluetooth, pair with the system, and use the steering wheel voice activation button to begin and end sessions with Siri in Eyes Free mode.
In the 2013 Spark and Sonic vehicles equipped with MyLink, owners can use Siri in Eyes Free mode to:
• Make voice-activated, hands-free calls to Contacts on their iPhone
• Play songs in their iTunes libraries, and even switch music sources automatically from AM/FM/XM radio to iPod mode
• Listen to, and compose and send an iMessage or text message to a phone number or anyone in saved Contacts
• Access Calendar and add appointments
• Minimize distraction even more by keeping the screen of the iPhone from lighting up even when Siri answers simple questions such as game scores or the dates of national holidays
Current 2013 Chevrolet Spark and Sonic owners can upgrade existing MyLink radios for Siri capability beginning in March.
* Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad (3rd and 4th generations), iPad mini and iPod touch (5th generation), and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply.

Government Motors Shitolet Sonic (The Hedgehog?)- designed and produced in Korea and Spark- designed in Korea and Germany. This from a company bailed out by the US taxpayer.
FYI- Government Motors has never repaid all of the costs dumped like a pile of shit on the taxpayers door.
1- GM was split into two companies and all the bad assets and liabilities were dumped on one and the other is the ‘new’ Government Motors that ‘paid back’ it’s loans with accounting tricks.
2- Tho old GM is still in the process of liquidation and also dumped the unfunded pension liabilities on the taxpayer.
3- The old GMAC- now Ally Bank- was 50% owned by GM at the time of GM’s bankruptcy. It is a creation of TARP and the taxpayers have still not recovered all the money lost bailing out GMAC.
4- Delphi- the old GM Parts subsidiary- has also gone bankrupt and dumped it’s unfunded pension liabilities upon the taxpayer. We will never recover all that has been spent and will be spent bailing out this disaster of a company.
For all of the PR spin, the US taxpayer is on the hook for a truckload of debts, loans and obligations from the old GM and it’s confederates that will never be recovered. I hope all of you driving Crapillacs and Shitolets enjoy your taxpayer subsidized cars and trucks because it cost the rest of us a bunch of money.

This was all done by Bush and Obama without the consent of the Congress or the American people. The TARP money was misappropriated for this project.

Bush gave GM the largest part of the TARP money they received. It was rapidly burned through- less than 90 days.
The remainder was given GM contingent upon restructuring of the company, wage cuts by UAW workers and the introduction of a 2 tier pay scale. New GM workers start at much lower wages and will never rise to the level grandfathered UAW members get.
Ford did all of their restructuring in the private markets and did it the hard way even as Chrysler and GM got truckloads of government help.
Like it or not you aren’t going to get a competitive mass produced car designed in the US these days, get used to it.

In his SOTU address, Obama made clear that he is not entertaining serious spending cuts or major entitlement reforms. Republicans, in their responses, repeated that they are not budging on taxes. The hard choices will have to wait for another day.
The standoff gives new meaning to Fat Tuesday: The nation’s finances are a mess, but — what the heck? — let’s have another round.
Early in his address, Obama pronounced himself “more than halfway towards the goal of $4 trillion in deficit reduction that economists say we need to stabilize our finances.” He blithely proclaimed that the rest of the job could be done by making “modest reforms” to Medicare and “getting rid of tax loopholes and deductions for the well-off.”
He didn’t mention that this would leave the country with a historically high debt level — and would be but a temporary fix before health-care costs explode in a decade. Departing from his prepared text, Obama challenged the idea that “deficit reduction is a big emergency, justifying making cuts in Social Security.”
In reality, we eventually need both spending cuts and tax increases — and lots of them. But sacrifice will have to wait. In Washington, they’re still partying like there’s no tomorrow.

IMHO, people who don’t have the money to buy a big car, generally don’t have the money to spend money on expensive phones like iphones!
IMHO, Chevy did a bad investment there! They should have developed their bluetooth/wifi connection to android phones instead, since that will work with a tablet, phone, and iphone.
The Iphone has changed connector plug from IP4 to IP5, who says they won’t change again soon?
If all this i-sheet will benefit my android/blueberry phone, I have no complaints. Otherwise, it’s a bad investment IMO.
