My brother ordered the same imac on 17 Dec through a certified apple reseller and still waiting!

double check with Apple to see if there is a hitch in the order. My nephew just ordered the high end 27 ” iMac 2 weeks ago, and he just got it yesterday.

So I am not sure that haptic is Apple’s thing.

Also, IGZO is the material from which TFT transistors are made of, it does not provide flexibility.

They have several patents on this. The flexibility of IGZO could help achieve haptic. There is a new patent about manufacturing a touch screen with Liquid Metal. Combined haptic is a real possibly. This would put Apple far ahead of the competition. I am not so sure about the need for Wintek OGS. The haptic may just start with iPhone because of the high price. The OGS could be for a new iPad until haptic is affordable.

iPhone 5 has two glasses: the cover glass (Gorilla 2) and the IPS TFT matrix with in-cell touch touch. All the rest of Apple’s products, for now, use three glasses.

If Wintek starts production of touch layer that is not in glass, but in film, then you still could not really call the end product “one glass”. It would be display screen glass and touch-sensitive layer/film — and, of course, the cover glass.
