Ashton Kutcher, Josh Gad: Steve Jobs biopic ‘was done with the utmost love, admiration, and respect’

“The 29th annual Macworld conference kicked off today at the Moscone Center in San Francisco with Macworld GM Paul Kent interviewing Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, stars of the Steve Jobs biopic jOBS,” Kevin Bostic reports for AppleInsider. “The two actors talked about the roles they took on, with Kutcher surprising the crowd with some serious Apple nerd cred.”

Bostic reports, “The two also addressed the minor controversy stemming from Steve Wozniak’s recent comments on advance footage of the film. Gad said he hopes Woz gives the film a fair chance. ‘I adore Steve Wozniak,’ Gad gushed, ‘I greatly appreciate that man and I hope that when he sees the movie in its entirety he will understand that we went to great lengths… It was an intensive journey, and I know it was the same for Ashton. This was done with the utmost love, admiration, and respect.'”

  1. I don’t think we should take the movie that seriously. Sure, there may be historic inaccuracies, but sometimes the art of story telling requires creative/artistic license to make it interesting enough to watch.
In any case, no matter how accurate the film-makers told the story, I’m sure someone would find a thread out-of-place or some other meaningless inaccuracy.
Let’s enjoy the film-maker’s interpretation of what happened, and remember Steve Jobs for the great man he was. RIP

  2. I’m sure the movies is more accurate than Wozniak’s comments about Steve. You have to remember that the two were not friends (Woz openly admits this), and in many ways Woz resents Jobs success. The only thing Woz did at Apple was to design the basic motherboard for the Apple II. He ceased working for Apple after his serious plane crash in 1981, so he only worked for them actively for about 4 or 5 years. Woz was–and still is–a tinkerer; without Jobs Woz would have been just one on 1000s of back office engineers in the Valley.

  3. If there was so much “love” from Kutcher, who does everything he can to separate himself from that 70’s dork… why does he work on a show that blatantly uses Macbook Airs, but hides the fact. BOOOO Kelso BOOOO!
