“Probably only a handful of people know what Steve Jobs was really like. And one of them is Apple co-founder and longtime friend Steve Wozniak,” Dara Kerr reports for CNET. “After watching the first publicized clip from the Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher, Wozniak has said it’s all wrong, according to Gizmodo. ‘Not close… we never had such interaction and roles… I’m not even sure what it’s getting at…,’ he wrote to Gizmodo.”
Totally wrong. Personalities and where the ideas of computers affecting society did not come from Jobs. They inspired me and were widely spoken at the Homebrew Computer Club. Steve came back from Oregon and came to a club meeting and didn’t start talking about this great social impact. His idea was to make a $20 PC board and sell it for $40 to help people at the club build the computer I’d given away. Steve came from selling surplus parts at HalTed he always saw a way to make a quick buck off my designs (this was the 5th time).
The lofty talk came much further down the line.

This is what I want to see from Steve Wozniak. Set the record strait and keep it focused. No tricks, no Australian blunder busters, just be yourself and don’t let us forget how it all went down.
I do believe that Steve Jobs would be like.. “Oh yeah, and we will can change the world…,” as an afterthought to justify his behavior.
Steven Wozniak has very volatile, fluid way of thinking. This is part of him being creative and talented engineer he is. But this also means that Wozniak can not really set anything “strait”.
That said, Steven Jobs would probably also not able to strait this kind of thing up, because he was always ideologically supercharged person, and the sign of that charge could change drastically from time to time and current circumstances.
But even if those two both were levelled, mundane guys, then still memory is proved to self-evolve through years, so whatever recollections they could have about their past together could be really shifted without them even knowing that they are recollecting things wrong.
Wozniak can not really set anything “strait”.
No, but he might set some things straight.
Woz… give computer boards away for free. On the other hand books…

iWon’t read iWoz ever and have no respect for the guy since he left Apple. In my opinion, he is as dead as DOS.
I think Wiz could have done so much more at Apple but I can’t blame the guy for bailing once he struck it rich.
The guy made amazing contributions to the industry in a short time and I’ll always respect that.
Awfully hard on the guy aren’t you? Especially since you don’t know what went into the decision.

Woz NEVER left Apple. He’s still an employee, with a very low salary, and he still represents Apple at certain conventions.
Woz is the Mozart of digital electronics. Thanks to him, you can type your comment. Give him some respect. He earned the right to be as goofy as he wants.

And he didn’t back away from Apple because he struck it rich. It was his airplane crash.
You’d think the film makers would take advantage of the LIVING RESOURCES who really knew the story. And the huge detailed bio is there to follow as well. No excuse for getting this wrong. Other than lazy and sloppy script writing.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
That is the #1 reason to not have a living resource on set.

Hollywood always takes creative licensing to make a movie more interesting. It would be pretty boring to show months of Homebrew Computer Club meetings in a 2 hour movie.
I’d rather see a documentary than this movie. Facts and interviewing people are way more fascinating than over-acting.
Youtube has many great Steve Jobs videos.
Every time I see Kutcher I keeping seeing ‘The butterfly effect’ or ‘That 70’s show”. It’s hard to take him seriously at anything.

Casting and direction are awful.
Characters are awfully depicted. Representations are all wrong. Noah Wile got Steve Jobs. Ashton Kutcher looks like Michael Kelso figuring out computers. Woz’s depiction is just… disgraceful. Not physically, nor performacewise. Woz wasn’t a slob, and he didn’t have a bush growing on top of his head.
Should we judge a movie from a little piece? In this case, I’d say YES. This will be horrendous. It doesn’t even deserve to go to direct-to-video.
I am getting really really upset about some people here constantly bad mouthing Wozzie, give the guy some respect…

He is a serious right brained chubby guy. I wish the goof would start taking care of himself so he’d out live me (55).
When Woz talks, squint very hard and read between some of the lines. Genius is a tough thing to carry around, I would think. It’s my opinion his heart is bigger than is belly and should be embraced not vilified. He IS a one of a kind, love him or not. Me? I’m on the fence. Christ I watched him “dance”. Sweet God.
He seems to love being in the public eye. Anything will do, apparently.
