  1. Even that Apple shows on top, I still don’t understand why those “analyst” keep comparing apples vs oranges ( and very bad oranges by the way).
They are comparing HARDWARE VS SOFTWARE, are they that stupid? They don’t realize the difference?

    1. That is very stupid indeed.

But if this sh*t is true, Apple’s marketing team should be proud. Yes the marketing team, because only with proper marketing you could get 17% increase when the product that was bought was not worth upgrading or buying in the first place.

      1. LOL. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Stupid indeed.

Virtually every review publication and rating service has the iPhone either the top choice or second choice. Virtually every review publication and rating service notes that the Apple ecosystem for its iProducts is far-and-away the best and most comprehensive.

In what bizarro, alternative universe do you live where a product like that is worth buying in the first place?

    2. Typical analyst: “Let’s lump phones from HTC, Samsung, Motorola, LG and Sony together, call them one thing, and then compare that one thing to Apple’s iPhone.”

      Sounds fair?

      1. Totally!
In that case, they should also include iPods and iPads that has the same iOS and are use to place calls via FaceTime or Skype. In which case they will include all tablets from android and evan that, iOS will still beaten them sin iPad has much market share that all android tables together.
If iPhone keeps raising, I don’t know what those “Analyst” will do to make apple look bad.

  2. Hi, I’m Forbes!… I’m going to state that Apple tops everyone in smartphone marketshare. And then, two weeks later, get this: I’ll have one of my cronies (a.k.a. Richard Saintvilus… a speedy stamp licker from our mail room dept.) blog about how Apple should hang up on it’s smartphone and make a watch.

    Talk about covering all bases.

  3. This increase in not surprising, once the iPhone 5 was released it moved the iPhone 4s to $99 and the 4 to free. The iPhone 4 and 4s design is much more appealing to those looking for a less expensive handset in the sea of crapdroid phone being pushed on then by salespeople than the 3Gs is.

  4. Apple’s top down approach is winning in the US. Go with a top end product and when you can start offering cheaper versions to increase market share.
This year the same trend will be seen in the EU and ROW.
