Burglary at Microsoft research campus, only iPads taken; No Microsoft products reported stolen

“A report popped up yesterday that Microsoft communicated to police earlier this week that there had been a burglary in one of the buildings on its campus in Mountain View, California,” Cody Lee reports for iDownload Blog. “The thief, or thieves, broke into 3 offices in Building 5 on the campus between December 19 and 26, when most folks were gone for the holidays.”

Lee reports, “The Daily Post (via Joshua Anderson) reports: ‘Microsoft reported that two iPad 2s, and two iPad 3s with a combined value of more than $3,000 were taken some time time between Dec. 19 and Dec. 26 on the company’s campus. A police report also said a fifth tablet — described as an iPad 4, worth $729 — was taken as well… No Microsoft products were reported stolen.'”

  1. What a low blow for Monkey Boy Ballmer, given that these thefts of devices made by the fruit competitor will hurt him in the pocket (ms apps development for iOS).

  2. You just can’t make up stuff this good. And you don’t have to.

    It’s true. Our office building was broken into and the Macs were stolen and the PC’s—new Dell Laptops out in plain sight, were left untouched.
