“Apple Inc has agreed to withdraw patent claims against a new Samsung phone with a high-end display after Samsung said it was not offering to sell the product in the crucial U.S. market,” Dan Levine reports for Reuters. “Apple disclosed the agreement in a filing on Friday in U.S. District Court in San Jose, California.”
“Last month Apple asked to add the Galaxy S III Mini and other Samsung products, including several tablet models, to its wide-ranging patent litigation against Samsung,” Levine reports. “In response, Samsung said the Galaxy S III Mini was not available for sale in the United States and should not be included in the case.”

And knowing Samsung, they will now release the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini in the US immediately.
And Apple will file the injunction again.
Samsung already has an “old-school” (too narrow screen) “7-inch” tablet, like just about everyone else who makes tablets other than Apple. 🙂
So, if Samsung actually copies the iPad mini, it won’t seem like anything new for them, and no one will take notice.

Yeah, yeah. I know. Samsung is no longer selling the Galaxy S III Mini in the U.S. and only previous deliveries working their way through the distribution pipeline are all that is available (yadda yadda or until Samsung appends a tiny ‘b’ at the end of the product’s name so it reads “Galaxy S III Mini-b”). Like user:jer above wrote, you can’t trust ‘em.
well if Samsung is selling the offended item in other parts of the world where apple also sells iphones, i say apple should use the local /regional courts there to impose a ban on samsung products.
