A really good journalist aggregator would see a story that reads, “Flash! Apple is currently working on a more updated iPad mini” and pass on it to find something with a little more meat.

But, then again, we all clicked, read, and commented, so… “mission accomplished?”

Retina iPad ppi is 264. I think if they take the mini to the same ppi as the iPhone and iPod they’ll have to do the same for the 9.7″ iPad.

I think next year the larger iPad gets more points like the iPhone did this year. Apple started implementing auto layout tools in Xcode a few years ago, and the larger iPad is going to have to become another size target.

If not when the mini becomes the standard for app development and touch targets are readjusted, all of those apps are going to seem blown up and a little silly on the 9.7″ iPad. Maybe iPad Pro?
