Apple reveals 2012 Apps of the Year for iPhone and iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini

Apple today released their list of the top downloaded apps of 2012, along with their Editors’ Choices for the best apps of the year for the iPhone and iPad.

iPhone and iPod touch:

App of the Year: Action Movie FX (free) – Bad Robot Interactive
Runner-Up: Figure ($0.99) – Propellerhead Software AB

Game of the Year: Rayman Jungle Run ($2.99) – Ubisoft
Runner-Up: Letterpress – Word Game (free) – atebits

iPad and iPad mini:

App of the Year: Paper by FiftyThree (free) – FiftyThree, Inc.
Runner-Up: Action Movie FX (free) – Bad Robot Interactive

Game of the Year: The Room ($1.99) – Fireproof Games
Runner-Up: Waking Mars ($4.99) – Tiger Style

  1. Might try some of these if I can stop playing “World of Goo” or “Hay Day” long enough to branch out. I get enough stress from real life so I prefer the simple no time limit games, the mental break time waster kind with challenges other than a frantic quest to stay alive.

    1. Mars is fantastic, definitely try it if you haven’t. Paper I use every day, it’s pretty much replacing Notability for me since I was using that mainly for freehand writing and not typing anyway. It’s kind of the AI Writer for artists 🙂
