Analyst: Apple iPhone 5S with NFC coming in June 2013 in 6-8 colors

“Apple will release an iPhone 5S in June, a break from the pattern it’s established over the last two years, says Jefferies analyst Peter Misek in a note this morning,” Jay Yarow reports for Business Insider.

“Misek is predicting the iPhone 5S has a new ‘super HD camera/screen, a better battery, and NFC,’” Yarow reports. “He’s also predicting it comes in 6-8 colors, presumably similar to the iPod Touch which comes in a bunch of colors.”"

Yarow reports that Misek “nailed the iPhone 4S ahead of everyone else. In May 2011 when everyone was calling for an iPhone 5, he called for an iPhone 4S, which turned out to be accurate. So, his iPhone predictions seem trustworthy.”

  I used to gripe about the iPhone’s screen size. But then I got the iPad mini and it’s been my go to device if things look too small on the iPhone screen. I doubt Apple will make a larger screen iPhone due to not wanting to fracture its product line into too many different screen resolutions, but if they did, that would be great. 4.3″ please.

  Phoblets simply don’t work for most people
  They are too big to use one handed or to comfortably fit in jeans pockets (the typical phoblet user I see has a nerd pouch on his belt and they are always emphatic about how much better that is)
  Add to that they are tweeners, they can’t be tablet screen for factor (buttons would be too tiny) And yet, if they are normal phone resolution what good are they? Magnified, same or lower resolution as the iPhone’s display in a larger case? Pffffst… how useless is that. Only people that is for is aging boomers and X’rs who are too vain to properly correct their vision?
  That’s it! The Samsung “big screens” are perfect for all you 40 or 50 somethings too vain (or self deluded) to admit their vision needs correction now. Kind of like big boy pants for the almost geriatric set.
  Kind of runs counter to the image they are desperately trying to project in the TV ads isn’t it?

Man, that better battery life has me salivating. That, above all else, will induce me to wait for the iPhone 5S. I’ll be getting one for sure once I read the reviews about battery life. Make it happen Apple. I love your products and want to use it to its full potential.

I’ll wait until an Apple dock is made for these mobile devices before I upgrade again. Apple makes wires for all their devices. Why wouldn’t they make docks any more. Their wires don’t make them a fortune yet they spend the time making those. Apple used to be about the whole experience and a dock for the mobile devices rounded that experience out nicely.

  That is why they are called Mobile devices – so that they don’t have to be docked – I still have never used a dock with any of my devices unless it was attached to an alarm clock or speaker system. Since they all sync over wifi i just plug into the charger and it is all handled.

    No that’s not why they are called mobile devices because they don’t charge wirelessly yet. The alarm clocks and speaker systems are bulky and cheap and designed for adolescents. I charge and sync my iPod on the Apple docks in the office, the kitchen, and on a smaller nightstand that doesn’t have room for me to lie the iPad down. It’s nice to read incoming messages in an upright way so I don’t have to reach over in the dark to lift it up. I don’t want to buy some cheap under designed clock to dock my iPad on the nightstand.

You know what would be really appealing? If they only upgraded the battery on the “S” versions: same phone, twice the battery life. If my iPhone lasted all day with intense use, or a few days with casual use, it would set a new standard and I would love it. Their consistent battery life is nice, and decently long, but when my battery starts dying (on a daily basis) I feel limited.

  Battery tech is an incremental technology now. Any gains in storage density of more than a single percent are a big deal. The batteries in the iPhone 5 are only incrementally better than the batteries in the 2 1/2 year old iPhone 4.
  To get double the battery life, they would have to significantly increase weight and nearly double the thickness. That isn’t a trade off that 99% of customers would want.
  
  If you want a ungodly operating time on an iPhone, buy one of the (many) piggyback battery add ons available from 3rd parties.

Many colors are nice for cheap fun gadgets, but for this category the iPhone is simply too expensive – so I don´t see any possibility for a Top iPhone in 8 different colors and there is a much better way to personalizise your device – buy one of thousends different covers.
And if the next iPhone is really named iPhone 5S then it will come in same casing as the iPhone 5 and the metal back wont offer room or reception for the relatively big NFC antenna. So the integration of NFC would force Apple to a complete new case design but this generation will be called iPhone 6 and will arrive 2014.
So this analyst looked at the NOKIA LUMIA 920 and thought – the former Mobile Leader is so innovative and so successful that Apple have only the chance to copy them.
