Windows 8 sufferers should blame themselves for being stupid idiots instead of blaming Microsoft. Microsoft is just pumping out the same crap they’ve always made. The best Windows upgrade is switching to Apple products.

It’s a mobile device, so you really need Windows Phone 8 Home Edition plus Windows Phone 8 Office Edition; you don’t need Windows Phone 8 Vehicle Edition because you shouldn’t be using the phone in your car anyway. But you mass-transit riders should add on the Windows Phone 8 Subway Edition. Then it might work better for you.

Windows 8 shutdown is not the same as restart. Shutdown is pretty close to hibernation now. On my test machine, I has run some updates, and shutdown after the install. Later when I came back, it still had the reboot necessary flag.

I think that a sneaky hibernate instead of a true shutdown is a problem that will exasperate problems in the long-haul.

Secondly, this same test machine, so far as had a corrupted registry which repairs sent it back to first install. All apps, even personal settings were gone. What’s the point of setting a restore point, when a restore takes you back to scratch anyway?

My iPhones will still occasionally happen to fail to fetch mail or crash randomly. Maybe once every other month, randomly and non-repeatably.
