Again we are comparing shipped to sold. Also, last night I saw and TV ad for “free” Samsung phones. Funny that it’s gotten to the point where Samsung is given their phones away to compete.
So Gartner’s numbers are padded by Samsung filling the space with shipped phones instead of sold or activated phones. It doesn’t matter because the real measure is how much people use their phones and our site, we have double the amount of iOS traffic then Android.

Those are cold hard facts.

always wonder where gartner got their numbers, Samsung don’t
provide smartphone numbers, only all phones shipped, Apple are
all smartphones sold, yet gartner keep talking about good android
numbers are, are they being paid by Samsung, google or Microsoft
for these analysis?

it remains weird that Gartner always understates Apple unit sales. They sold 26.910M iPhones last quarter, not 23.55M.

Now that the iPhone 5 is in this quarter and the iPhone 5 is in China this quarter, the numbers will be different. People knew for a long time to hold off on the iPhone until the iPhone 5 was available.
