Pixar names main studio building after Steve Jobs

“Steve Jobs is often associated with Apple, but many often forgot that the visionary played a large role in the creation of Pixar. He financed the work at the studio long before it became profitable, pouring millions of his own money into keeping Pixar afloat because he believed in the work of the employees,” Pixar Times reports.

“After his death last year, some wondered how the animation studio would honor him,” Pixar Times reports.In the end credits of Brave, there was a brief but touching tribute to Jobs.”

Pixar Times reports, “Now, the Jobs name has a more permanent home on Pixar’s campus – above the main entrance to the studio’s main building.”

  1. Now how about a statue outside 1infinite loop?!
    And how about just once, the new guard at Apple even mention Steve at one of their future conferences. The empty chair would have been so classy…but they failed to even that.

    To be clear, Pixar *company* was founded by Jobs; without him even this very name would never exist, let all all of the films and software the company produces. Without Jobs Lucas was simply going to dissolve that graphics unit — no one really wanted to buy out them for almost two years; only Jobs have “seen” the future.

    Of course, the company would not be possible without Catmull and Smith either. So this clarification above can not diminish their role. The clarification was needed only because author of the article made impression as if Jobs was just a venture investor that happen to be around, and thus basically any investor could do it, if not Jobs.

    But no one could, no one believed, no one “seen”, no one was “visionary”.
