Apple granted new patents for iPhone 3D modeling app, Apple TV, iChat, iPhone 5 LTE and more

“The US Patent and Trademark Office officially published an incredible series of 34 granted patents for Apple Inc. today,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.

“Today’s report mainly focuses on three Apple patents,” Purcher reports. “The first one relates to Apple TV which lists Steve Jobs as one of the inventors; the second one relates to an all-new iPhone 3D modeling application that has yet to surface; and the third relates to Apple’s eighth patent win for iChat videoconferencing. But as you could imagine, within Apple’s 34 granted patents were a few other little gems, and we cover five of them which touch on such matters as LTE, voice commands and Cover Flow.”

  1. That 3D app sounds very cool. I saw this kind of idea at IDF a few years ago and Apple’s version is way cooler.

That “Joke of the Day” at the end of the PA report gave me a big laugh. Who in the hell believes anything Samsung says now?

    1. You can never tell about Samsung? Apple has had its rubberbanding claim against Samsung invalidated. But Samsung had a workaround anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Odd, you read about it everywhere except MDN. C’mon MDN, we can take the bad with the good. We’re grown-ups. It doesn’t happen that often.

    1. Let me see; you think that by one Apple patent getting invalidated that you could make the leap that all Apple patents will be invalidated in the future. Your hyper imagination has gotten the better of you. Then again, perhaps you’re a monkey working up the evolutionary chain. Because with your logic, your one stupid idea means that everything you think of is stupid. Then again, that might be so in your case.
