“Just one day ahead of Apple’s big press event where the company is expected to unveil the iPad Mini, new rumors indicate it might also launch iTunes 11 and the third-generation of its e-book app iBooks at the same event,” Samantha Murphy reports for Mashable.

“French tech blog iGen.fr is reporting various books in Apple’s digital bookstore now require iBooks 3.0 to download,” Murphy reports. “The rumor that iBooks 3 could be unveiled at the event compliments other reports that the iPad Mini may have an education focus.”

Murphy reports, “Apple may also launch at the event its upcoming update to iTunes, which was first announced alongside the iPhone 5 in September. The company said to anticipate an October launch date.”
