The way Verizon treats Apple products in promotions is understandable. Although it fights against higher sales for Apple's products, it's all business. Apple's products tend to be so outstanding and already have such great advertising that promoting Apple products even further may cause Verizon to lose more power in the smart phone market. It would be great for the consumer, but imagine Verizon's position if Apple demands the carrier to provide larger subsidies.

Not likely. None of the carriers seem to give Apple much "boost". Usually, you can hardly find an Apple poster in the stores never mind demo units. I was told at one store they never have iPhone demos because people steal them. I guess people don't steal the competition.

These sales numbers appear to be very strong, indeed. This is especially true when you consider they haven't even started selling "unlocked" iPhones yet! I travel too much to not have an unlocked phone. The travel charges are just too outrageous.
