“Last week, I told subscribers to my weekly options newsletter that it was time to bail from Microsoft,” Rocco Pendola writes for TheStreet. “On the Oct. 4, MSFT closed at $30.03. On the 5th, it finished below $30.00 (at $29.85) and it’s been all downhill from there.”
“There’s not a nicer way to say it. The stock is trash,” Pendola writes. “And the company that floats it is little more than a receptacle — the black bin, not the nice blue one for recycling or the green one for compost.”
Pendola writes, “The one-trick revenue pony known as Google doesn’t rank far behind. Both companies will have their heads handed to them in what amounts to self-constructed ‘battles’ and ‘wars’ with Apple.”

Microsoft is at war with Apple? I thought they surrendered the day the Zune was released 6 years ago. Has it really taken this moron that long to figure out that APPL kicked MSFT’s ass six ways to Sunday.

Microsoft has continuously battled Apple (from the zune to the mock iPhone funeral a couple years ago to the recent attempt at the “ultra book” category (attempting to stem the tide of dwindling wintel sales) to the new metro tablet-laptop hybrid-whatever-the-effe they are (and, will MS will ever learn they have attempted to stuff this laptop tablet hybrid thing down consumers throats 3 or 4 times in the last decade and have been soundly rejected (by same)
They are still battling apple (though I think they see more of a chance to grab marketshare from the about to bellyflop ‘roid platform than they do from apple, so that is where they are concentrating their energy (for now). Ballmer will likely sail the good ship MS down the vortex right to the bottom of the bowl attempting to fire his non working canons at Apple until the day they finally slip into the sewer.
Not exactly at war, apple just want to walk in and Microsoft just want to stop that.. but microsoft if more like the Black Knight in Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

Any company on the planet would kill for Google’s “one-trick revenue pony.” Google has an uphill battle in the phone market and they may ultimately lose it. However, that is chump change compared to the revenue they derive from their Internet services. Phones are a hobby for Google.
They blew $13 billion acquiring Motorola Mobility and still haven’t shown a profit. Phones are more of an act of desperation than a hobby. They comprise a life or death kind of situation for google.

How dare Apple tread on Microsoft PC soil.
Ballmer said that Microsoft is just getting warmed up for its frontal assault on Apple with Windows 8. With 39 pop-up Microsoft retail stores set up across the street from Apple stores, Apple is going to be on the run. ZunePad vs. iPad. I can already smell the cordite.
Microsoft has been taking it in the shorts for the last few years, but Ballmer in his clown suit appears not to notice, and continues to shoot himself out of a cannon along with the rest of the clown brigade. The trouble is, fewer and fewer people go to the circus any more. P. T. Ballmer needs to bail, and soon.
