Apple did not skimp on the aesthetics of the much anticipated ‘iPad Mini

Yeah, if this vacuumware ever consists of a spec of reality, OF COURSE it would be the high quality device we expect from Apple. Flies eat turds and can settle for the Amazon and Google crapware alternatives.

I think that’s enough, BLN. You were not the only one on this forum to defend the merits of the iPad mini. Nor are you without fault in you posts over the past couple of years. I seem to recall a lot of talk of imminent doom if the iPhone 5 display were not at least 4.5″ in size. There is plenty of crow to go around.

I’m sure resellers look forward to carrying 12 models of the iPad 3 (black and white), 4 models of the iPad 2 and from I’m assuming you propose, 12 more more iPad minis (6 models 2 colors black/white).

Let’s assume the iPad mini will be as great as iPad three and iPhone 5.
If you were forced to choose between an iPhone 5 and the great new ipad mini with LTE and a telephone calling app installed as your only idevice for the next year, which device would you choose and why?

If the base were $299, it would mean a 64 GB version with LTE will likely be $649. While the difference in absolute dollars will be the same for low and high end for the mini vs the new iPad, the percentage difference is not. The low end mini would be 60% of the cost of the low end iPad, but about 76% of the high end. My guess is that is where they are looking to make up the margin differences. If Apple believes the higher end minis will be the most likely ones purchased, then a $249 price point would be possible, which would result in a $600 high end, 50% and 70% respectively.

It will be a very high quality device, thin, light, and featuring a very nice in-cell, thin display at 1024 X 768 that will look much nicer than competitive higher resolution displays, which will allow for out of the box App comparability. 10 million of these things will not be enough.

The iPad will not only have the new doc connector, but will have an A6(X?) to further differentiate it and the mini, it may even be thinner and lighter than the current version. Retina & A6 plus larger display for only $200 or $250 more. Sounds like a pretty compelling line up going into the holidays.

Oh by the way I heard that crows & macaws like shiny things as well. I’ll be serving some crow pie very soon to some of the commentators here, so the bright, shiny bauble might help me catch them crows for the oven.
