somebody at CR just bought and started using iPhone, and its not
even the iPhone 5, they bought 3GS with iOS 6 on a good deal
discontinued products with steep discounts……lol

the problem is… CR praises android/BB for example and bashes the iPhone regularly.

even though it’s been proven that they were wrong… they won’t admit they were.
When other phones were shown to have the SAME antennae issue that the 4 had…. what did CR do? they pulled their video reviews of those phones from their site. and did NOT change their reviews at all.. and continued to bash Apple for pointing out they were wrong.

yeah but wikipedia isn’t exactly a “trusted” source.. granted what someone put there could be true, but just cause it’s on wikipedia doesn’t make it fact.

the page has pretty much praise for CR, not one mention of them ever being wrong. the only controversies they have on the page, is ones that favor CR…
not one mention of them screwing up with the antennae gate debacle. not one mention of them pulling the video of the BB (i think it was a BB anyway..) that they recommended over the iPhone… yet they inadvertently showed the phone had the same antennae problem.
we all know that story.

CR states they never show any bias, but have been proven time and again to BE biased towards one brand, or against another. If it’s true that 7 million people read them… well, then there are 7 million people that don’t know any better.

CR isn’t the player they once were. more people turn to other sources than CR. I’d rather turn to youtube of all places to see people review stuff…

I seriously doubt if you CR haters have even the remotest clue what you’re taking about.
CR buys 15 mowers, figures out the best and fairest way of testing them and reports what they find. It’s no more complicated than that.
It’s up to the reader to decide if the ratings are sound. If CR had no credibility they wouldn’t have 7 million subscribers.
No wonder the idiot fandroids call us sheep.
CR recommends our fav phone and you’re still not happy.

The iPhone 4 was the “top hardware choice” at the time, and Consumer Reports hated it. They actually said they couldn’t recommend it. Why? No real reason. But tens of millions of people bought them anyway, because they figured it out for themselves — the iPhone was the best phone on the market by far.

I stop subscribing to CU years before I got a Mac+. I saw the leaning toward specific products. I’m not the only one, CU wants subscribers back. Especially Apple users!

As much as the MDN crowd hates CR, this report to me means that even the iPhones greatest detractors of yore are starting to see and admit the device is evolving into the top hardware choice. Software and OS have never been at issue. The build quality of this new iteration is beyond any of its competitors offerings.
