Sorry Gary. Some of us have been buying AAPL for a long time (I made my first AAPL purchases in late 1997). Why don’t you go and run a chart and take a look at how that has worked out for us.

If you really think that AAPL will come down to $350 in 2013 (unless they did a stock split) then you are absolutely insane, and missed your calling as an analyst.

When any Hedge Fund operator talks about any specific stock they should be investigated for attempted stock manipulation. Their fund’s holdings of that stock should be automatically frozen for 2 months — no buy/no sell. And their buy/sell history on that stock should undergo a thorough colonoscopy, including reviewing the record of previous public statements to correlate activity.

I would imagine Mr. Kass is backing up the truck after he scared a lot of people into selling their shares at a discount. We all know that hedge fund managers are lagging the market this year and he and they have successfully brought down Apple just so they can get a position at a nice cushy price. While I hate him for doing it I do applaud the results if they do in fact buy it when it was distressed for no valid reason, as is the case every time this monster has gone down. The little guys who can only afford to buy options get screwed, while the big money just buys on dips and collect their 1% management fee and 2% performance fee.

Wall Street lives by the feature race. Things like ultra-large displays, NFC, mini-SD, HDMI out, high processor speed are what’s important to them. Since the iPhone lacks those things, obviously Wall Street believes that the iPhone is falling miles behind. I think it’s impossible for them to measure a smartphone by any other way. To them, more features mean a better smartphone. Even the tech-heads think that way. The only defense Apple has is that consumers are buying iPhones in record quantities but only based on some undefinable hipster factor.

Wall Street doesn’t acknowledge that criminals steal iPhones and not Galaxy S3s or any other Android smartphones. iPhones have greater user value and resale value but Wall Street doesn’t get that at all. If Android smartphones were better smartphones than iPhones, they certainly would be the ones being stolen. Another thing about Wall Street is that it thinks cheap is good, yet I wouldn’t think that top hedge fund managers would fill their houses with cheap products. All those well-to-do brokers surely aren’t living a low-end lifestyle.

What does your experience say about their 36 year history… Apple has only been relevant for the last 5 years or so. Get a life! They will tank in 2013 down to $350.00. Google will hit $900.00 and Google’s market cap will increase as the amount of outstanding shares will increase significantly in 2013 with Apple hitting 400 billion which needless is nothing to sneeze at.

Not to mention that smartphones are more than the hardware alone. The OS, apps, and 3rd party ecosystem are all important as well. I personally think the the Apple hardware/OS/app combo differentiates it in terms of quality.

Given the maturity of the smartphone market, no one is going to put out hardware so much better than the competition that the winner is obvious, as in the case of the iPhone vs any other phone at the time. I don’t need to remind anyone that even then, the iPhone had plenty of detractors. WHAT?!?!? No physical keyboard?!?!? blaaaaahhhhhhhhhh?!?!?!?

The iPhone 5 sucks. There is a definite lack of features such as:
No Magic carpet, no soft-serve ice cream app, no rainbow generator, lack of a credible flying squirrel cloaking device, it doesn’t come in artificial grape flavor, and it uses more than 1 napkin at Taco Bell.
