In any case, the only thing that is the same between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5 is the appearance of a metal band around the outside. I say “appearance” because the sides and back are now a single piece. It would be like say your new Dell mini-tower isn’t new because they didn’t pack all the new innards in a triangular case.

You key in on the one exterior design cue meant to connect one model to the next as an iPhone and then claim EVERYTHING is the same and then in the next breath say it is obnoxiously longer?

Additionally, the “obscene” price you refer to is the same as the flagship phones from the other OEMs at their own introductions.

And the iPad Mini’s size doesn’t have to be accommodated for because it has the same number of pixels as the iPad 2 for which there are large numbers of apps already written and available that are optimized for the larger surface area of a true tablet.

By the way, the iPad Mini sucks as well. There’s ANOTHER screen size you’ll have to accommodate for. In before “cool story bro/tl;dr/related”.

Honestly, this was one even that could have been phoned in given the main event in the ring was already outed. The new iPod Touches and iPod Nano’s are sweet, although I was bummed they went bigger with touch again on the Nano so the watch idea is dead.

Apple offers colors in the iPod lines. Apple offers different physical detail in the different iPod lines. Apple could have done a hell of a lot more with the iPhone 5. Apple abandoned its legacy iPhone accessories but tried as hard as they could to make the IPhone 5 look as close as possible in physical form to the iPhone 4. Missed opportunity for sure.

still, i am missing some useful features that others already have and would make some welcome additions no matter how hard apple tries to talk them down:
- a screen that would be operable with gloves and fingernails too (like the lumnia does)
- sharing between ios devices (itunes in the cloud and photostream are complicated substitutes for something very simple: beam my stuff from one of my devices to the other)
- wireless charging (doesn’t make much sense when you’re traveling but would be very useful at home. imagine you come home, lay your device on the charger and it also synchronises with your computer via wifi at the same time, no cables needed – sounds very convenient to me)

Now iPhone 5 has larger screen.. when looking at it, I have the same feeling like the first time I saw the metal keyboard. I think I would stick to my 4s since I’m pretty much comfortable with the design and how it fits in my pocket/jeans.

I’m sure iPhone 5 is a fine product and better than the previous models and much better than the droids and winphones. But then again, just like the white plastic keyboard, I need a product that I will feel comfortable, not just when using it, but also when I have to carry it along in my pocket.

Maybe, I would just wait for iPad mini if I need a device bigger than my phone but smaller than my iPad

Anyway, my comment was in reference to the shear two-facedness and hypocrisy. For years, MDN and every other ditto head, me too shill has said that 3.5 is the perfect screen size and that anything larger was stupid and not designed for the human hand. I have been ridiculed and soundly put in my place over the years for wanting a larger screen. It’s just nice to know that Steve Jobs actually agreed with me, and not you bozos, since he actively worked on this phone before his death. Praise be upon him.

The screen is the right size? Really? Because I thought 3.5 inch was the right size. No, I thought 3.5 inch was the perfect size. In fact, I thought it was the only size that could be held and used one handed due to the limitations of human anatomy…does that mean that the new 4 inch screen is inferior? Has Apple now gone backward in Steve’s absence?
