It’s official!
Apple has sent out invitations to their special media event to be held at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT on September 12, 2012.
By to looks of things, the next-gen iPhone will in fact be named “iPhone 5.”
Rumors strongly suggest that Apple’s iPhone 5 will feature a taller 4-inch (diagonal) in-cell touchscreen, 4G LTE, and a new smaller Dock Connector, among other things (NFC, Liquidmetal, quad-core A6 chip, 1GB of RAM?).
We’ll know for sure in eight days!

Didn’t they do this last year, same time roughly? and the year before that, and the year before that? Why the big mystery?

This app may be the next best thing to sliced bread, but we don’t appreciate advertisements in this forum, particularly from anonymous contributors. We have enough trouble dealing with political rants and trolls from the Windows and Android worlds.
I will make a point of never even looking at this app, much less downloading it.
It has only been five years since the release of the iPhone, and it has been selling extremely well ever since. And, yet, the Fandroids are already asserting that the “sun has long set” on the iPhone.
Surely they remember the iPhone? The device that changed the world and the only reason that they currently have the Android OS and a wide range of touchscreen smartphones, the many of which look like clones of the iPhone? That’s righ…the iPhone…the game-changing mobile device that broke the stranglehold the cell providers had on everything from text messages to ring tones. The device that delivered the first good internet experience to a mobile device. The device that delivered true mobile computing in a handheld device.
Fandroids should at least show some respect for Apple and its mobile devices that transformed mobile computing. Instead, the copiers like Samsung are praised and Apple is scorned. Incredible…and very sad.
