How to get all the vintage Mac system sounds on OS X

“The new system sounds for OS X just aren’t as cool and quirky as they once were back in 80s,” Buster Heine reports for Cult of Mac.

“Remember the duck quack, and the monkey screech, and oh yeah that moo’ing sound?” Heine reports. “Genius!”

Heine reports, “Apple got rid of all those gems in OS X, but there’s actually a way to bring them back to your Mac if you’re feeling nostalgic.”

    1. Ditto, Roberto. In the RED vs BLUE episodes where the soldiers were having trouble with a robot warrior, a code word would elicit a “Wild Eep” from the robot before he smacked the low guy on the totem pole with the butt of his rifle.

      I have all the old sounds archived: alerts, startup sounds, crashes/sad Mac sounds, etc. I got some laughs out of a co-worker by putting the “train wreck” sound in his startup items folder.
