“On Tuesday, according to Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal’s official court minutes, she and another Quinn lawyer represented Samsung at a hearing about which side deleted what e-mail evidence and when,” P.E.D. reports. “Only trouble is, although Estrich is a Professor of Law at the University of Southern California Law School, court records do not show that is certified to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California… Judge Grewal has given Samsung until 5 p.m. to clear the matter up.”

it’s common to have 2 or more cigarettes at a time. walk through the door after work, put half smoked cigarette in the ashtray while you put ice in a rocks glass, answer your phone, light a fresh cigarette as the other burns in the ashtray, walk into the den to grab some papers, put cigarette in ashtray, leave den light cigarette, pour drink, say goodbye to associate, shake head, crush out cigarette #1, loosen tie, think about how old your son has to be to mow the lawn and if you left that cigarette burning in the den. light another cigarette, finish drink.
this 2-3 cigarettes at a time is how my father smoked. he died of lung cancer.

My question is: “does this really relate to Apple?”. It seems essentially a court-room issue that might bite Samsung in the butt.
While Estrich might not be licensed to practice law in that jurisdiction, that should not bar her from participating in the case as long as she speaks to the court only when spoken to and allows a certified attorney to do that task.
Now they’re copying lawyers without permission?
