This dude is on crack. For instance:

1. how much data I am using without having to download an app -- you can already do that.

2. easier for me to type -- it's already easier than on android

3. Siri’s features offline -- OK, as soon as Google gives you Google search offline

4. Make notifications better -- they're already better than android

5. Maps available offline -- This is Google's fault, not Apple's. iOS 6 maps will be significantly more compact, allowing you to use much wider areas of a map offline.

6. unzip files -- your email server allows zip files? Wow, how 20th century. If you're a zip file sufferer, you can unzip with the free Dropbox app.

Dear Apple, send me a million dollars or I'll switch to a phone that isn't as good as yours just to spite you!!!

I have a shorter list:

1. When having an iPhone automatically cuts of my balls.

Only when 1 is true will I switch to Android. Hell no, I would buy a phone that can do text if you really try. No other phone is smart enough to be called smartphone. <- that last thing is a period.

Please tell me how you got this feature to work.

It doesn't work on my iPhone 4S. No blinking light despite enabling it in Settings->General->Accessibility->LED flash for alerts.

Second of all I heard that it only blinks for 2 seconds once. No reminders if you don't check your phone and missed it blinking.

Thirdly, I heard that it doesn't blink for incoming email messages.

Totally lame implementation.

Like Siri, another useless and lame feature from Apple.

Here we go:

1. Show me exactly how much data I am using without having to download an app

--Why? If you're bumping up against your data cap that often, you need to buy more data. Or stop trying to download porn on your iPhone.

2. Make it easier for me to type

--I think a larger screen will take care of that. Otherwise, WTF?

3. Give me some of Siri’s features offline

--I agree that Siri should be able to dial a phone number from my Contacts, make an appointment, and do other things that don't require an internet connection when I don't have one. Let me call someone while in my car via Siri. And sometime's its just that the connection doesn't seem good enough to satisfy Siri, even though other data works just fine. Probably more about Siri coming out of beta than anything else.

4. Make notifications better

--Um, Apple just did in iOS 5. Perhaps you could elaborate? Want a tiny monkey to come out and tap you on the shoulder when it's time for your bottle?

5. Make Maps available offline

--We'll see what iOS 6 Maps has in store, but that's what other apps are for. You know, some of the half a billion apps available for iOS and NOT Android.

6. Let me unzip files directly on my device (at least allow it from emails and trusted sources)

--Yyyyeeeaaaahhhh, because setting up millions of iPhones as a new botnet would be a FANTASTIC idea. If you need to unzip that many files, get a MacBook Air and don't go clogging my data airwaves with your trojan virus spam malware.

He picks 6 things at random that Android does that iOS doesn't, doesn't bother explaining why he wants them, or what they're used for, or how much of a priority it is, then calls it a 'story'. Typical BS.

Unzip files directly on your iPad? WTF? 3) and 4) are just braindead and vague. The rest are boring and useless. iPhone already has a way better soft keyboard than Android (I have an Android device, I know how bad it is).

For #2, it's not straight typing that bothers me, it's the lack of arrow keys and a forward delete for editing mid-sentence.

You can tap but the cursor often doesn't end up where I want it to. You can touch-hold to get the magnifying glass but that's slower than using a mouse on traditional computer. Remember the original 1984 Mac keyboard had no arrow keys, and just like iOS, users were expected to use the pointing device to change cursor position. The arrow keys returned soon after.

The forward delete doesn't even need to be a separate key: shift (hold) + delete is good enough.

I admit that arrow keys take away too much display space on current iPhones, but iPads have plenty of space, and the new iPhone 5 supposedly has a bigger screen to work with.

I think Smith has stated some legitimate requests. On numerous occasions I've tried to use Siri to do simple things like dial a contact or search for a contact, and it times out trying to connect to a server. Having a subset of functionality without requiring server connectivity would absolutely improve Siri's useability.

Of course there is always a "wish list" for any device like the iPhone. Android users have their "wish lists" too. The point is how ludicrous it is to construct an article around the threat of leaving the iPhone brand if Apple doesn't meet his particular wish list. The ego! And bluejay is not wrong in associating this type of writing with paid blogging we read about earlier today. An author can write a balanced, non-partisan discussion of improvements he'd like to see in a product without threatening to leave that brand for its competitor. It is gratuitous posturing for the sake of sensationalization. All I can say is don't let the Apple door hit you in the ass on they way out.

Oh dear, user invokes Godwin's Law, loses the Internet.
Along with such an unbelievable anti-iPhone argument that says the iPhone has undergone X-number of iterations and it still isn't right, while carefully ignoring the fact that every Android phone has undergone far more changes to spec.
Are you really that stupid?

As for typing, how much easier can it get? You don't need to type ANYTHING anymore. I do most of my "typing" by simply talking to the phone, using the wonderful microphone icon next to the space bar on the keyboard. There's an occasional missed word, but I need to clean up errors when I'm typing anyway.

As for the rest, what whiny nitpicking!

There's an upwelling of dissatisfaction in the iPhone world. Proof? Well, I don't have any. Apple is getting ready to release iOS 6 and reportedly a new iPhone. That could spell trouble. They have only done this five times before. Hopefully Apple will finally get this one right or we could see a mass exodus to the Android camp.

That or Apple will have moved the bar yet again and Samsung and others will be scrambling to recommend changes that are similar to the new iPhone and iOS 6.

I'm not holding my breath.

Is this real? Do you hear yourself? This sounds like an at&t user . Do you even know how Siri works to complain about having it on the device? And zip files? What? What are you doing with your phone? Why do you need these settings, of all of the settings out there. You need to go to Android, they want people like you. And hey make sure to get virus protection for that open source phone. You'll need it Mr. zip files. Are you serious? lmao
