If you read the Motly Fool column today you may not have chance to upgrade to anything. Motley Fool is saying both AT&T and Verizon are looking to drop Apple because they lose money on iPhones. It appears they think droids are getting close to iPhone, and the coolness factor of iPhone may not last. They base it on the increased cost of plans both have on iPhones. Not as competetive as droid and win phone packages. Is Apple killing the golden goose?

My family plan consists of 5 iPhones, 3 iPhone 4 and 2 iPhone 4S. Three will be able to upgrade in September and two will have to pay a premium to do so.
I've owned 3 iPhones so far. I bought the original iPhone and the iPhone S on launch day (one year later). I skipped the iPhone 3GS and waited for the iPhone 4.
Prior to the iPhone I had never owned the same brand two contracts in a row. The next iPhone will be my fourth same brand purchase in a row.

There's a reason the iPhone commands the vast majority of mobile profits and its users consume the most data, its a superior product. Critics of the iPhone are trolls, looking to start a fight.
