Apple’s next big thing will be huge

“If your company has been going up against Apple Inc. in the smartphone, tablet PC, or digital music player markets, be very afraid. Apple’s return salvo may catch you completely by surprise,” Bolaji Ojo writes for EBN.

“The company has been too quiet recently. Ominously quiet. The silence can only mean one thing: Apple will come out soon with another major product line that will redefine its market segment That’s my prediction,” Ojo writes. “How do I know? Apple’s late founder, chairman and CEO Steve Jobs promised the company will be rolling out some extraordinary breakthrough technologies in the near future. I believe the process of rolling out the next product from Apple is peaking currently and we should see something compelling from the company within months.”

Ojo writes, “In order to continue pacing the competition, Apple has to keep its innovation engine humming. Jobs’s demise is unlikely to hamper this, at least not in the short term. All indications are that the company had a batch of products it was working on before his death… I believe Apple will probably unveil a new device that will unsettle many and redefine the video entertainment industry. It will definitely combine the best of Apple hardware and software with industry content.”

  1. My interpretation of this “story” –

I don’t know anything, I just want to be the first to say Apple is going to release “something new”, just in case they do actually release something new.

To paraphrase BILLY MADISON – “everyone in this room is now dumber for having” read this

  2. Pure conjecture at this point. I think that mostly any product Apple puts out will do well based on recent happenings at Apple because it has a very loyal, deep-pocketed consumer base. Apple will definitely get a quick start at whatever they start selling.

  3. We always hope and wish something amazing might come of this…but every wwdc is always a disappointment. C’mon apple, wow me with some technology which is non-existent!

  4. An Apple high performance Electronic Car as followup to the iTV sounds like a great next big thing to me. How about Apple taking a position in, and possibly an eventual purchase of, Tesla Motors? The Tesla Model S and Model X look Apple-like to me, and would benefit tremendously from cash and computer/mobile device technology input from Apple.

  5. Movie renting has become a debacle ever since the demise of the video stores. All but gone is the simple task: “plug in a DVD and sit down with the remote”. Today’s options, like Hulu and Netflix, often require jumping up and down to your PC(incl. Mac) to control (pause, FF, REW), whereas streaming options can be even worse, from stuttering video, blaring ads, and only viewable on the PC or smartphone. I SP set-top boxes(greedy orifices) are far too restrictive, as are The Xbox and even the current AppleTV.

Those massive new server farms ain’t for piddling document back ups. They are fixing to deliver some heavy loads (my guess = video & TV).

I believe Apple has all the pieces in place to finally offer what everyone has been wanting for a decade or more now – consolidating the living room in a seamless manner while including portability across all their iOS devices. What will make the iPhone 5 and beyond compelling purchases is their integration with the APple system … something Samsung nor Windows is capable of copying, even if they *look* similar.
