“A monument dedicated to late Apple founder Steve Jobs is in the works to go up in the main square in St. Petersburg, Russia, but the organization behind the initiative wants help with coming up with the design,” Samantha Murphy reports for Mashable.

“A Russian-based company called The Foundation of IT Progress has launched a competition to find the best concept for a memorial in St. Petersburg, which is considered the country’s information technology (IT) hub,” Murphy reports. “‘This can be any idea – a classical monument, stele, memorial plaque and even any kind of modern electronic installation,’ the project notes via a translated version of its website. ‘His ideas helped IT technologies become so widespread. Murphy reports, “The winner will be selected by a panel of IT professionals in St. Petersburg, as well as votes from Internet users.”
