Mitt Romney: Does President Obama think Steve Jobs didn’t build Apple?

“Mitt Romney said again today that President Obama didn’t believe that Steve Jobs built Apple,” Domenico Montanaro reports for NBCNews.com. “‘To say what he said is to say that Steve Jobs didn’t build Apple Computer or that Bill Gates didn’t build Microsoft or that Henry Ford didn’t build Ford Motor Company or that Ray Croc didn’t build McDonald’s or that Papa John’s didn’t build Papa John’s Pizza,’ Romney said today at a town hall in Ohio. ‘This is the height of foolishness. It shows how out of touch he is with the character of America. It’s one more reason his policies have failed. It’s one more reason why we have to replace him in November.'”

Steve JobsMontanaro reports, “It’s not a new line. Here’s what Romney said yesterday: ‘The idea to say that Steve Jobs didn’t build Apple, that Henry Ford didn’t build Ford Motor; to say something like that is not just foolishness. It’s insulting to every entrepreneur, every innovator in America. And it’s wrong.'”

“The Jobs charge is based on the Romney campaign’s reading of President Obama’s speech on Friday in Virginia, in which he said, in part: ‘If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,'” Montanaro reports. “But does that mean the president doesn’t believe Steve Jobs built Apple? Here’s what Obama said in his statement after Steve Jobs died: ‘By building one of the planet’s most successful companies from his garage, he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity.'”

  1. Of course, Obama doesn’t think ‘Steve Jobs didn’t build Apple’, nor has he made statements that support this idea. It’s simply Romney and the right doing their best to confuse the electorate with disinformation. Anyone with half a brain can see right thru the propaganda.

  2. Man oh man the nutbars are out today. I am not talking about GOP supporters but the only those GOP supporters that truly believe Romney taking Obama’s speech out of context is ok.

I don’t particularly care what party you support but KNOWINGLY convincing yourself based on an obvious mistruth is beyond belief let alone maturity. Grow up you dumb shits as this is what is wrong with the US today. The same goes for any Democrat that would believe a distortion of something a republican leader would say.

You guys are smarter than that.

  3. Yeah yeah yeah, Obama didn’t mean what he said. Blah blah blah. Nice try liberals. When are we gonna see the SNL skit on this one just like they did with Sarah Palin and the “I can see Russia from my house” lie. BTW, Joney Ive didn’t design any of the Apple products, someone else made that happen. LOL.

      1. Bro, really? Palin said, ““They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.”

She didn’t say from “My house”. Tina Fey said that. BTW, you make my point. Obama’s so-called slip up (according to liberal democrats) will be used relentlessly in the campaign but without the help of the Democrat media.

        1. Bro! You arguing semantics? Someone who lives in Alaska said you can see Russia from Alaska.

The words “my house” has nothing to do with what makes it an astonishingly idiotic thing to say – it still has the same factually deprived meaning.

I’m wondering, how did I prove your point exactly? All I did was point an idiot saying something idiotic. How does that makes me one of your mindless liberal Obama minions? Back down, bro.

        2. Semantics are what Obama supporters are bringing up even though the thrust of Obama’s comments were obvious to the average person. The point is that people will remember what Obama said even though liberal supporters will deny he said it or meant something other. Just like people like you remember the quote attributed to Sarah Palin even though Tina Fey said it. Now, since you say we are arguing semantics, can you tell me how far Sarah Palin’s house or the capital is from Russia?

      2. You CAN see Russia from Alaska… You are the ignorant one. Not Sarah Palin. The distance between Little Diomede Island, ALASKA, & Big Diomede Island, RUSSIA is only 2.5 miles. That is a fact of geography. They are quite easily seen from each other. I learned it in elementary school in the 1950s.

        https://maps.google.com/maps?client=safari&q=little+diomede+island&oe=UTF-8&ie=UTF-8&ei=uqcIUNKoIaWC2wWxrMXeBw&ved=0CEgQ_AUoAg

The Democrat Machine played ads of TINA FEY’s quote and attributed it to Sarah Palin—ad nauseum, not the actual Sarah Palin Quote…

    1. THanks for proving you are a card carrying member of the nutbars I mentioned in my earlier post.

I guess I may have been premature in my statement where I pointed out that you guys are smarter than that (at least some of you)

  4. Obama fanatics are still under his spell. It’s a mental disorder. Everything around them points to the disaster this President has been but they can’t see it. It’s really scary that they vote. We’re talking Jim Jones kind of stuff here. Please seek some help. Better yet, don’t vote in November. Really. Do you want the long list of FAIL?

  5. I believe it was Alvah Curtis Roebuck, of Sears & Roebuck, when asked what is was like to have thousands of people working for him replied “They don’t work for me, they work with me”
